If you could live out ONE Bond movie, from beginning to end, which would it be?

I'm stuck between Goldfinger and GoldenEye. Both great choices!

Which movie would you choose?

Dr. No or Thunderball. Nothing beats a tropical vacation in exotic places with danger on the side.

@Birdleson - Yes!! Space would be absolutely amazing! I would just hope the laser space battle would be much more realistic, haha.

@Murdock - Dr. No would be so much fun. Would love to wake up on a beach to a beautiful person singing "Underneath the Mango Tree" picking up shells in a skimpy bathing suit, haha.

Much as I have ragged on the film, MOONRAKER. I'd give up anything to go into space, add to that the gliding in the PTS, and it's a given.
That actually says it for me too.

Well it wouldn't be Casino Royale; the "chair" scene rules that out. ;)

One more would be For Your Eyes Only. Melina is gorgeous and not to mention, would be awesome to play out. Though I'd have a silenced PPK ready when Apostos tries kicking me off the side of St. Cyrils.

I'd do GoldenEye just because I love the gas facility, the casino, and wouldn't mind having a few tussles with Xenia Onatopp ;)

Though... with Xenia, I'd rather my experiences be like the ones in the GoldenEye novel, not the film. That would be so much more fun!

Far from a good movie, but NSNA has the greatest locales for me- and I love scuba diving! Plus there's an arcade, lol
  • The Living Daylights. I like Kara and I love all the locations.

    TSWLM. Love it.

I've wanted to visit Cairo and see the pyramids. I've wanted to ride a camel, I've wanted to visit the Temple of Amun in Luxor, I've wanted to ride a skidoo off the coast of Sardinia, I've wanted to drive a Lotus Esprit underwater, I've wanted to ski backwards, I've wanted to ski off a mountain and let a Union Jack themed parachute save me, I've wanted to sleep with Barbara Bach in her prime, I've wanted to walk across the Sahara (or at least a small portion of it) in a tuxedo, I've wanted to be as unflappable as super cool Sir Rog.............and I've wanted to do/be all these things since I first saw that absolutely stunning film so many years ago.
  • Goldfinger would be the easiest choice since carrying out the mission would be a breeze: nothing much to do apart from enjoying mint juleps, rolling in ze hay, and occasionally getting captured. ;) But there isn't much appeal for me otherwise, apart from the bevy of blondes.

There's too much suffering, physical and emotional, throughout Craig's three for me to choose any of those. Similarly, as awesome as it would be to kick it in Piz Gloria drinking whiskey and branch water with Blofeld's angels, living out OHMSS would ultimately leave me in the worst kind of misery.

GoldenEye wouldn't be a bad choice, but it'd feel kinda like "been there, done that" after having already lived the film out so many times throughout my youth via N64.

Moonraker would be a strong contender with the opportunity to be in outer space, Venice, the Amazon, Manuela, etc., but I have a serious issue with heights, so being pushed out of an airplane without a parachute and hanging from the side of a cable car automatically rules this one out for me.

Tomorrow Never Dies would be the ultimate thrill ride: just nonstop action, pulling barrel-rolls in a jet, firing guns akimbo, racing over rooftops on a motorcycle with a beautiful Chinese spy straddled in front. But I wouldn't fancy losing a gal like Paris, someone more than just your typical sacrificial lamb—goes for You Only Live Twice and Aki, too—and there are other options out there.

I'd be seriously down with living out Live & Let Die: New Orleans, jungle locales, supernatural adventure, '70s style, bourbon and cigars, speedboat chase...Solitaire...but then again I have these occasionally recurring nightmares about vast bodies of water filled with crocodiles and alligators, so...

The World Is Not Enough, being a longstanding favorite of mine, would be a natural fit. Racing the Q-Boat down the Thames, skiing with Elektra, shooting it out with Renard's thugs in the bunker or around the caviar factory, having Christmas...anywhere...that'd be one fun adventure for sure.

But ultimately, Thunderball wins. I'm a big fan of swimming in the sun and exploring underwater life, Domino has always been one of my favorites, Bond himself gets to be so cool, so heroic, so larger-than-life throughout, and at the end of the day saving the world from the clutches of S.P.E.C.T.R.E. and all with a smile on my face would make me feel just about ten feet tall. Thunderball for the win.

    This I cannot deny.

Another ticket for the Thunderball Experience please. Fly a jet pack, saucy rub down with Patricia, then off to HQ for a quick brief in that amazing conference room. Then fly off to the Bahamas to enjoy the glamourous casino nightlife and beat SPECTRE's no. 2 at a spot of cards. Then pull on a natty pair of blue shorts and enjoy a bit of sun, sea and how's your father with Domino and Fiona (probably Paula too). How can I book this again?

I am not surprised that most members who already answered have picked a Moore or Connery outing. 50 years on since Connery; and 40 years on since Moore, a lot of people are still mesmerised by these 2 guys, and really want to be them.

As for me, I pick TSWLM. So much fun things to do in that film.

Add my name to the Thunderball list. The steamy love scene with Pat, caging up Fiona and water sports with Domino seals the deal.

Least likely would be DAD. Spending a year and a half in a North Korean prison camp and being stuck with Jinx isn't my cup of tea. I honestly don't know which of the two would be worse.

I love this thread idea! If I had to choose a single one, I think it'd be GoldenEye, but Goldfinger, Thunderball, and a few others would be very close. It'd be a blast to ride that tank and do impossible plane stunts...

Being OHMSS my favourite Bond movie, I guess I'd choose that one. I'd finally have a chance to go sking while listening to John Barry's marvelous music, but falling in love with a beautiful woman and then lose her on the day of our wedding would be too much for me to endure.
  • Probably Thunderball or Goldfinger for me. For all the reasons previously given. PLUS: you get to drive the legendary Aston Martin. I mean really, who wouldn't? Probably TB, now that I think of it: the jet pack AND the Aston Martin, within moments of each other! Done and done. Thunderball it is!

I've always wanted to live out the scene escaping from piz gloria and then on the run from the guards - just seemed like a fun, thrilling sequence. But the ending of OHMSS negates me wanting to have to do the whole thing through :(

Dr. No for the win. It's a tropical vacation with Ursula Andress!
2nd place: Moonraker, for the zero-g sex.
#3: Goldfinger. Nice suits, mint juleps, some of the villain's wealth finding its way into my personal bank account somehow....

I'm thinking Dr No too, nice locations, Ursula Andress, everything is pretty cool and you don't take too much punishment.

I did think of AVTAK as well because if you're that age and can get to share a shower with Tanya Roberts and a hot tub with Fiona Fullerton that would be pretty nice, but then I remembered the May Day scene, I think the good definitely outweighs the bad though.

Yes, I suppose you'd have to determine if Honey is worth getting the crap beat out of you. I'm sure many guys would probably still go for it.

I was thinking LALD because of Solitaire but I really don't want any part of that croc farm!

In the end I'd probably have to go with one of the Gilbert films, most likely MR. Even though Dr. Goodhead is far from my favorite, the chance to visit Venice, Rio and space is too great to pass up. Plus, Corinne and Manuela aren't too shabby.

Summed up nicely and seconded. Plus you have the DB5 to drive.

I have to say Thunderball too. Fiona Volpe is a good enough reason by herself. No need to consider any other really.

Indeed, and the divine Domino to boot. :)

Based on the needs, if it's for the thrill, excitement, places, then Thunderball, most likely.
If it's for the girl, two words: Sophie Marceau
