There is certainly no way this film will be shorter than Skyfall.

If it's one minute longer, but the final minute is 2000 fps slow motion, will that still make it better than Skyfall?

I feel like Mendes probably had more restrictions placed on him during SF than he does now with SPECTRE. Given the chance I think he would have SF hit the 150 mark. So I get the impression that with SPECTRE he'll finally have that extra narrative space to work with. I don't think he'll pass up the chance, put it that way.

Yes, I'll be very pleased if they can give us a Bond of that size.

If anything SF could have been trimmed, not extended.

I don't think Mendes would agree with you there.

Honestly I don't mind a three hour Bond film. Hell even 4.

I agree. I think 3 hours is certainly achievable for a Bond film.

Yes! Good work @Marketto. That's a long trailer. I remember the trailer for CR being around the same length and in hindsight they showed ALOT....but good news anyway. Can't wait to see it!

Also looks like that's an October release date for the movie in the UK.

At this time, I think there won't be a vlog on the 15th, but the trailer. At least I hope so.

How many days passed between the bbfc and the teaser?

150 minutes! Awesome! The longer a Bond film, the better.

We don't know when the next trailer is coming out?

I'm excited about this film and even more excited about the new Bond book 'Trigger Mortis'. Sounds like this movie will have a great story.

Wow, the next SPECTRE trailer isn't until October. Disappointing.
I think they mean the movie release date, not the trailer.

It was 9 days for the teaser and if they follow the same it should come out around/with Ant-Man. That would make sense. Marvel and Sony are working on the new Spider-man and that way they can place the Captain America: Civil War teaser with SPECTRE in October/November.

It's achievable for any film if the story necessitates it.

I wouldn't mind a shorter (not too short obviously) film if the movie is gripping enough that you don't notice the shorter running time, but I wouldn't want the story to be rushed, important details left out and scenes that could have been expanded upon without being drawn out. On the other hand, I don't want a story bloated and drawn out with filler to reach a longer running time to the detriment of the story.

The running time should reflect the story being told.

No, it's 150 seconds. And it's the trailer, not the film itself.

From my projections, the film length will be more or less the Casino Royale one, around 2h15m

Casino Royale was 144 minutes. I don't think another 6 minutes is out of the question. Especially since Mendes will have more creative control this time and he will be keen to put the extra narrative space to good use. I stand by my prediction of 150 minutes for SPECTRE.

Yes you are right, I should have said something between 2h15-2h30, but closer to the first

Let's just hope that with this trailer we get some sunshine and a fun time. No more gloom. History has shown you can't do epic Bond and make it dark. Thats not what audiences want anymore anyway. They want a lighthearted adventure, colourful locations, lots of action and humour. A hope the clouds will part in this next trailer and we get to see Bond back at his best!

So what does this mean? That only these portions have 6K instead of 4K?

Could it mean certain sequences are in a Imax-esque larger ratio much like The Dark Knight & Rises?

I think that could very much be it yes. As opposed to SF, it seems SP now really seemed to be filmed with IMAX-equipment then...

That Arri camera isn't the IMAX version that will be used on Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War btw.

Basically - and I hope that's ok even tho it's from the leaks - they intended to shoot 3 of the major action set pieces with full 70mm IMAX cameras at 1.44:1, but Mendes backed out last minute - and they've decided to film those "IMAX" sequences at 1.85:1 with spherical as opposed to anamorphic lenses for the rest of the scenes - either with normal 35mm film, VistaVision, or this 6K ARRI digital camera it seems too.

Those sequences will I assume be "formatted for IMAX" at the IMAX Digital aspect ratio of 1.89:1 with the Blu-ray/home media version of the film hopefully having these sequences in fullscreen 16:9.

The final film DCP I assume will be delivered in 4K like Skyfall.

I've been reading about the different cameras used for SP and was wondering if it's common practice to shoot a film partly in 35mm anamorphic widescreen and also 6k digital with a 1:85 aspect ratio for certain sequences?

Since SF was all shot digitally using spherical lenses and the others Craig Bond's were Super 35 and spherical, SP is the first anamorphic widescreen Bond since DAD, if I have it correct. That is something I am especially really looking forward to.

Not common practice - the 6K at 1.85:1 is genuinely just a replacement for using the 70mm IMAX cameras for select sequences which achieving a similar effect in IMAX theatres.

I have "The Dark Knight" Blu-Ray, and when I watch it I see that with the original IMAX sequences the actual letterboxes disappear so it fills the screen 16:9. Does this mean it will happen to "SPECTRE" too? And next year's Blu-Ray of "SPECTRE"?

That is kinda what I was wondering as well. It seems like something that will be great for IMAX but how it translates to home video is something we'll see in early 2016.

It won't be any darker than CR.

Is that the reason the fun and light hearted AMERICAN SNIPER became such a big hit just 6 months ago? Again, audiences will be on board as long as the movie is great, no matter how dark or fun it is.

I'm not talking about whether it's night or day, l'm talking about the tone of the film.

I hope the trailer isn't released until after Comic-Con. We don't want it to be buried by DC Comics or Star Wars hype.

Yeah, because OHMSS isn't a masterpiece.
