    If this news ends up being not Bond 24 related, I will be really disappointed. Would EON announce the title before a press conference? Maybe. The title leaked before the press conference the last two times, maybe they decided to prevent a leak by announcing the title earlier than usual.

    I think, when it comes down to creating a new Bond title, the creative team always have the first and final say over it. I don't believe marketeers and Sony are waiting for Michael's and Bab's head to be chopped off when they come up with a title full of, uhmm, "inuendo". Did Pickert and UA/MGM called Cubby back when they decided to use soft porn title "Octopussy"? Nah, don't worry guys, this process is save within all these brainstorm sessions of the creative team (Babs, Michael, Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes and the scriptwriters).

    No one is saying the studio create the title, that is down to the creative team, but the studio can veto titles. So what might be the producers first choice, ends up being binned in favour of the studios preferred title.

    And that has never happened before. Will not happen in the future. And how do you know what the exact contract details are between MGM/Sony and Sony Pictures? Prove me if Sony/MGM really have that right.

    I think this kind of vetos are really more vital when it comes down to picking an actor....or a new James Bond. Common sense between MGM/SONY and EON will always be present when choosing a title.

    Just so we know what page we're on, I do not know the details of EON's contract with Sony pictures. I would assume such decisions are made by committee and that EON's long standing ability to deliver, has sway in terms of creative decisions. But as someone who has 10 years first hand experience of the industry I am aware how these things can work. Believe me when I say I have been in meetings with high profile 'talent', where execs and channel/studio heads have shot them down, usually accompanied by a marketing strategist. Take into account our esteemed colleague @ColonelSun, who probably has more experience than all of us put together and then some. He offered his first hand account of the Studio vetoing Licence Revoked. I'm not saying I know the ins and outs of EON's relationship with Sony/MGM, I'm merely saying that sometimes the studio has power over such decisions. It's their money and their responsibility to market the film. Anyhow it's not that big a deal, but don't start your 'prove' it to me nonsense. You don't always have to be right and some people on here try and offer insight for the good of the forum, not to show off or be a know it all.

    My realistic list of possibilities:

    1. Main actor (villain) and/or main actress
    2. Title
    3. Details of new Aston Martin
    4. Change in producers (losing Michael and/or adding his son)

    Perhaps something on the return of quantum.

    Also to give blind hope to us Fleming title fans they could buy the domains of risico or death leaves an echo tomorrow and announce it on the same day having had egg on their face twice with Quantum of solace and Skyfall

    James Bond to star in new comic book line from local publisher, Dynamite

    considering MI6's recent interest in James Bond comics here: http://instagram.com/jamesbondlive
    I'd suspect this is the news.

    @StoneShi, I believe it was you who made a big deal about not getting recognition for breaking Hoytema as dp. I respect and appreciate you keeping your sources to yourself but for the love of God, please don't troll our emotions here. I hope you're being sincere.

    It was me who broke the Hoytema story, you can look it up in my comment history. I suspect StoneShi is nothing more than a troll.

    Same. But to be fair they never said it was B24 related. Otherwise I think James Page would have teased is directly in this thread.

    That means we'll have a new Bond novel, comic book and movie in the same year?

    It's not exactly Christmas - it's much better.

    I'm a bit disappointed that it is not the title of Bond 24, but that will be unveiled eventually, so I'm thrilled with the news.

    I'd suspect this is the news.

    It is interesting news though. Apparently, EON Productions were looking for an official comic book publishing partner for quite a while now. Perhaps EON sees the success of Disney's Marvel (Fox for "X-Men", Sony, for "Spiderman") and WB's DC Comics. So in the future EON and Sony could have a stronger marketing weapon....letting readers know that "the next Bond film will be an adaptation of this Dynamite comic book". We know how succesful comic book-movie-partnerships have been lately....

    Dynamite has an interesting portfolio of famous TV-Movie brand names:
    --> Shaft
    --> Battelstar Galactica
    --> Bionic Man
    --> The Green Hornet
    --> Stargate
    --> Zorro
    --> The New Sherlock Holmes

    Sigh lol oh well
  • I'm a bit disappointed with Mi6 and their cock-teasing behaviour. A comicbook is not an exciting announcement we have all been waiting for. It was clearly a ploy to drive more traffic to their twitter account, nothing more then a cheap trick really.

    Uhm, can @JamesPage perhaps enlighten us abou the message that was posted 18 hours ago at 2:30 AM last night/this morning (GMT +1) on the MI6-HQ-Twitter page?

    "Big news tomorrow! Tune in for an announcement that has been a long time coming"

    Tomorrow still needs to come, and just a few moments ago a tweet was posted about the comic book news:

    "Comic Book Return: James Bond is coming back in comic book form! Dynamite Comics have teams up with Ian Fleming… http://mi6-hq.com/s/a3769?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter...."

    I am not convinced that the first message is related to the latter. I think we still might have some pretty big news tomorrow. I'm guessing it indeed will be the title no? Also remember that this Rome-plaque-news was posted at the same time at 2:30 AM (GMT +1). BUT the actual Twitter-picture from @VoiceFromTheSto has been deleted. Could EON perhaps.....let us wait longer?

    Its not a cheap trick if all of journalism uses the tactic.

    If it is something else its probably casting or the title. Also, @marketto007 mentioned something about a video game announcement.. and he only runs the largest Bond fan site in South America..
  • Hi, here are the latest news or even better - pictures - from Austria:

    http://www.jamesbond.de/2014/10/07/kurzes-update-aus-oesterreich-und-italien/

    it looks like they want to remove the power poles and the ski-lift (or at least parts of it) for the shooting, for filming the plane crash in the wood near the village. and they think Obertilliach will be used for a major sequence of the movie with 25 minutes screen time (which would maybe be arount 10-15min finally...)

    Thanks @JamesBondDe ! The size and the shape of the structure confirms it'll be a big Skyfall-sized building. This alone could mean that Austria this time around could be the main location of Bond 24, with the most screentime. Looking at the shape, I think it could be perhaps a huge log cabin-esque villa of Alpine architectural design....or a hotel.

    If an airplane, jumbojet-style, will be seen crashing in the film.....then it could be a Moonraker-esque PTS, where Bond gets an assignment after the main titles from Mallory to investigate the crash (But still, that would be quite sensitive stuff no, so short after the MH17 airplane crash in Ukraine :-S).

    But it could also be the finale, Skyfall-style or OHMSS-style, where the biggest building (lair or other house) will be destroyed completely.
