I assume you haven't booked any tickets?

Already booked my early release tickets (double the usual cost) and asked for the collectible shaker that was for sale with the pre-order. So yeah, I'll be going to see it regardless of reviews. And then I'll write my own if I disagree.
  • The only critic that counts is yourself. I don't tend to go to the cinema often these days but come rain or shine I'll be there for each new Bond film dispite what may or may not have been said. I know people that thought Daniel Craig's debut Casino Royale was rubbish! Don't listen and find out for yourself. Can't be much of a Bond fan if you're not prepared to watch it on the big screen because someone expressed an unfavourable opinion.
  • Even if critics pan a film, if I'm intrested in it, I'll go and see it, then I can make up my own mind and judge it for myself, then agree or disagree with them.

And I've liked films that critics didn't before. Like the last 2 Rambo films, or more recently The Bourne Legacy.

If there's one bad review I won't go and see it. Critics are always right :p

  • In a new ComingSoon interview, the interviewer said he'd be seeing it in about 10 days, so I guess we'll know pretty soon.
  • I read somewhere Skyfall will get some bad reviews. I'm not going to see it now.

Not one bad review, but if most of the reviews were bad like qos received was the discussion question.

The reviews for Quantum were mixed - not bad

I think, its the wrong question on a Bond board. If that was regading another film, maybe...For example, I liked Taken 1 but won't see aken 2 because of the trailer, what I read about it (not good) and the critics, that are really bad. i am not THAT interested in it.

Of course I'll see it. A decade of Brozza didn't stop me so I'll be damned if a review is gonna get in my way.

I remember QoS getting reasonably good reviews. It's only in retrospect that a lot of people changed their opinion. This also happened with DAD. I'm pretty positive Empire gave QoS 4 stars, but reference it now as being a let down. They also decry DAD although I'm sure at the time they also gave it 4 stars (now probably downgraded to 3 as they sometimes sneakily do with older films).
  • Picked up my physical ticket yesterday so no, bad reviews won't keep me out of the cinema. Opening night in Sweden's largest cinema (sadly no IMAX). SO hyped!

CR be a hell whyle i like QOS. I whas to nerves when i saw CR, from all 6 Bond movies i have seen in the cinema i think CR i wait the longest with deside i go or not. I saw it on 24 January 2007. 2 months after the release date, 2 weeks before the movie get out the cinema. About QOS (Release date 6 November 2008, saw it on 17 December 2008.) there wrote things about iam worried about, whyle Cr be made to positief.

To much positief feedback about a directer, actor, plot or hype stop me earlier not see a movie. This one of the reasens why i watch TDK (TV) with a lot of doubt and mabey also a bit of hate. More then ever i only read reviews or the writer knows he talking about.

QOS be the first movie since TMND i saw in December month. GE/TMND i have seen in December too. Twine release date whas 9 December, but i don't have the time and it feels better to see it in January 2000. DAD release whas in January and is the only one i saw on the release date and whas almoost sold out.

Skyfall (With 31 October, 6 days earlier release date then QOS) wil be the first in November i think or mabey in the first week of December. I whant to see it in a big theater room again. Waiting a month and a litle bit like Twine or waiting til December i take the risc it is impossible stil see it in a big theater room is those days with so much movies. it be inportent because i don't whant history with CR repeating, i have strong feeling this wil possible happen. Iam not a big cinema visiter too, the last 3 movies i saw in cinema be QOS in Tusinski in 2008 and 2 art house movies in 2009.

Reviews will hype Q, Adele and over hype Ralph Fienes and of course about the title.

  • Never missed a Bond at the cinema but aint gonna read reviews too many spoilers.

I for one don't give a monkeys what any arty farty correspondent says. I, like everyone else like to make my own mind up and not swayed at by film journos opinions. I remember when Casino came out there were one or two critical reviews. Unbelievable! Having said that it would great going in to see the film knowing that reviews have been glowing in their praise.

I will definitely see it in the theatre and make up my own mind. Watching a Bond film on the big screen is a truly great experience compared to watching a dvd. So, no matter what anyone says, I will be in the theatre for this one.

But I am expecting things to go well. And I don't feel I am being overly optimistic.

I've never not gone to see a film based on the reviews.
I've also not gone to see a film based on the hype. I think I'm one of the few people on the planet, who hasn't seen Avatar yet.
I like to make my own mind up, whether something is good or bad.

Lucky you. Seriously don't see it. I went to see Avatar thinking it'd be a return to Camerons Aliens and Terminator days.

Instead I got an overhyped video game that was just as awful as Titanic.

In agreement with @Germanlady-- I feel like everyone on this forum would see SkyFall even if every critic in the world hated it

I literally do not remember the last ⅔ of Avatar. On opening day, that movie was a BIG deal, and the only showing I could get into was the midnight showing-- I kept nodding off at the end!

The press screening is in six days, everyone. So, even though there will likely be an embargo, we'll get reviews in pretty soon.

Well i would take the mature approach and MAKE MY OWN MIND UP, by actually going to see the film regardless. Instead of someone telling all and sundry what it is like? Good or bad?

What a stupid notion. Is there a critic out there who knows more about Bond than me? I doubt it so why would I consider their opinion of an validity whatsover? Watching said 'respected critics' offering their appraisal of 50 years of Bond on Newsnight last night was more than sufficient thank you.

Even if everyone on here came on and said SF was appalling there are only about half a dozen people whose opinion I rate highly enough to take any notice of.

Even though i'd be over the moon if Skyfall gets great reviews, at the end of the day, i've got my own mind and views, and i'll make my own mind up about the film after seeing it. But wild horses couldnt keep me out of the cinema on the 'nights' that i'll be going to see it, even if there's any whiff of negativity, i've been waiting long enough for it..
