  • This video has so many spoilers do not watch at all if you want to avoid them and even if you don't you should prepare yourselves.

  • The gunbarrel is important to me, probably even more important than the theme song. Seeing those white dots roll across the screen, you know it's a Bond film, and I'd be upset and pissed off if they took it out.

Hopefully (and i am sure it is) the gunbarrel is back where it belongs before the PTS. I remember watching QOS and I was like..."where is the gunbarrel?"...Its like if you went to see an Indiana Jones film...You would expect the Paramount logo to turn into a mountain or a pile of dirt or maybe even a pile of mashed potato (maybe the 5th one could use that and it would also be a homage to Spielberg's own Close Encounters!)...alos imagine the STAR WARS films without the scroll....Bond films need the gunbarrel and the white dots. And they need to be at the beginning....

When I went to CR, I was very disappointed that they moved it. But I thought "it's because they're trying to be different, it'll be back for the next one" And then, QOS came out...

I'm not watching that. Not before watching the film.

@xolani, how is it confirmed? Does someone say it? Are there any behind the scenes from that shooting?

I really shouldn't be in this thread. Why am I torturing myself?

Come on, all that crap/complaining about the Gunbarrel in Casino and Quantum! Get over it! Jeey, haven't you people gotten the idea of Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace that those films were about Bond yet to be formed to the character we all know?

In Casino they gave us an origin with the Gunbarrel. It was genius in my opinion. At the end of Quantum he got closure with the Vesper story. So with Skyfall our hero will be the man we all used to know in the previous films before Casino!

It was a great idea which worked very well with the Bond Begins storyline! This is widely known I thought. :-)

This last video was so amazing! I'm glad spoilers don't seem to spoil me at all, too curious :)
  • Very good feature. Lots of great new footage...but I need to stop watching these. But I can't!

Ok, I didn't think the film needed to be Bonds origin story to begin with, but: Why should Bond being a rookie stop us getting a proper gunbarrel.

Yeah I'm complaining because if it ain't broke, don't fix it. And the QOS one was terrible anyway, and in CR the barrel itself looked ugly.

Because before the PTS he did not have his 00-status yet. At the end of the PTS right after his second kill through the gunbarrel view, he earned his 00 status.

Of course you can disagree with that story/idea, but it's not like they experimented with it. It was really part of the story. So the gunbarrel at that specific moment was a logical choice. :-)

I won't argue with you about the visual aspect of the gunbarrel. One likes it or not. I like both of them. :-)

After watching that 10 minute clip I'm going to go out on a limb and make an announcement. I think SF is going to be better than CR. Make of that what you will but I have valid reasons fir believing so.

I agree. This is looking more and more like a true classic. Hopefully it won't dissapoint. I think Sam Mendes is a better director than Martin Campbell. Sam has an Oscar. Martin directed The Green Lantern...

To be perfectly honest, I'm not even using or acknowledging the accolades of the directors because IMO Campbell is a mediocre director at best BUT when it comes to Bond, he's a top tier director and knows what he's doing. Mendes on the other hand IMO is a better director but he's never done a film like this before but faith comes from how he's managed to convince me in his knowledge and passion for all that is Bond and his vision for what he wants to achieve. Now, after seeing snippets of how this film is looking I can say so far he's impressed me and will deliver. Whether or not all is good is another matter but personally, I'm convinced Mendes has delivered and the film looks like it'll be better than CR or at the very least just as good.

I've mentioned this over in the gun barrel thread - I just put on Sky Movies 007 and there was an Adele ad featuring the gun barrel we've seen behind the scenes stills/video of. It was simply craig walking, turning, shooting. Not to say it's not been cut but looked pretty classic to me.

Well, that 10 minute clip clearly shows
Craig doing a new gb and on top of that he's walking at the perfect pace before he spins and shoots.
  • In those TV spots posted above, it says on the bottom that there is one use of strong language. That can't possibly be referring to the "f word", right?

They're still using Arnold's music but not inviting him to any premiers or celebrations?

    Rude.

How do you know this? Has Arnold said he's being snubbed?

Well it says one use, and "bloody" is said multiple times in the film. At least in the script.
