Something strange is that bond was founded on 6th july, my Birthday.

Hate to disappoint you but on what grounds are you basing that exactly?

Fleming wrote CR in early 1952 and DN was released in October. Please tell me you arent referring to a game or I might just throw my laptop across the room.

That's what I am wondering. There are so many Bond events that kicked off so many things for the character, so I doubt one could limit the founding on the character/franchise to a singular event.

Well I think you can - its when a bloke that perhaps some people have never heard of round here - Ian Fleming - sat down and wrote the 'spy story to end all spy stories'.

Jesus Christ - what have we come to if this is even up for debate?
No need to be dramatic about it. What I think Gareth was referring to was the franchise's founding, not the character himself, but we'll have to wait and see what he has to say.

The James bond museum was opened this year on 6th july, and it said it was the day bond was founded ??? isnt it not. Do you remember in Casino Royale, the new one. When bond is on his mobile phone. It has the date 6th july on it.

It says bond was founded on 6th july, that means born basiclly. It was the day ian fleming created the character.

    'It'

Call me Mr Pernickity could you be just ever so slightly less vague as to your amazing Deep Throat level of reliabilty source?

It would be difficult to be more vague to be honest.

Theres something to do with 6th july. Thats' why the date is on the mobile in Casino Royale, and its also the same day the exhabition opened. I might have it wrong about bond founded, not sure. But its still pritty cool that my birth date is on casino royale and its the same day the bond exhabition opened. It is a coincidence? or is there a reason to it. If anybody can find out i would be greatful?????

It must just be a coincidence that both dates to do with bond are on my birthday. Sorry for bringing it up!

Well as youve apologised so gracefully I suppose I'll have to let you off on this occasion!

It seems the blubbery arms of the soft life have the Wizard round the throat.

It does seem strange though, having a date in a bond film and having it on the same say of opening an exhabition, ? and being my birthday. But anyway. Lets forget the whole subject.

Perhaps instead of announcing who it is, they'll just update the bond website some day with, "oh heres the music video for Skyfall"

... and we would all implode! I'll bet that it is released on Oct. 5th, but I hope I am wrong and it is sooner. Yeah, I'm still betting on Adele (and that the sun will rise tomorrow). ;)

Announcement, music video and song all on the 5th please. The theatrical poster would be nice too. EON need to make a day of it!
Are you a gamer, do you have 360? PS3?

I heard Ryan Seacrest announce on his morning show yesterday Adele is doing the Bond theme and it was on a few local shows and what not..Seems to be pretty official. I mean there has always been a crap load of rumors and fake announcements and I know people say "Until EON announces it.." blah blah I think its safe to say Adele is 110% doing the theme folks ;)

The cat seems to be very much out of the bag. There's no way they can wait till the 5th. If they don't announce it soon there won't be anyone to announce it to except some undiscovered tribe in the Amazon jungle and theyll just look fools holding a press conference. The situation is getting almost as ludicrous as Ryan Giggs' affair.

Unless of course it's not Adele?

I am still holding out hope that it is Michael Bublé. That man deserves this.

Agreed. I wonder what EON's reasons were for not using him, as surely they must've considered him at some point.

In the UK, Buble's target audience is women over 40.

I dont think he is right for abond film. I cannot imagine his voice over bond credits

Buble is perfect. However, I think the likes of Buble and Adele are applicable now as Bond in CR and QoS wasn't ready for the classic-esqu ballads yet but SF supposedly being Bond with a capital B now calls for these typical Bond-like artists.

Not dising buble, but adele has a great classy voice and it would be a perfect fit for a bond theme.

Listen to Matt Monro's vocal version of FRWL. Buble IS right for Bond. Now if they only gave him the chance.
  • I want it to be a femail solo singer for skyfall though.

Adele is obviously the right girl for the song. But i have always preferred Bublé. He is a great singer and got the right style and panache.

Bookies are closing their books and taking no more bets on Adele. Even rumoured to be paying out despite no official confirmation.

Well, this story from ABC Radio in New York is interesting...

    http://abcnewsradioonline.com/music-news/2012/9/19/onerepublics-ryan-tedder-has-heard-adeles-james-bond-theme-s.html

The tweet in question appears to have now been deleted.

But the journalist has re-stated separately her affirmation that that is what the tweet said, and formed the basis of the story she wrote up.

Why weren't they applicable before? Buble singing would've improved QOS that's for sure.

I explained why. It's got nothing to do with making anything better but in line with fitting with the character. Bond in my eyes at least, didn't become Bond until the end of QoS. The beautiful ballads can now come as rookie Bond is a closed chapter.
  • So it has to be certainly Adele then.
