    Shane Black is an exception; he writes scripts either alone (LETHAL WEAPON, THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT, KISS KISS BANG BANG) or in partnership (IRON MAN 3, THE NICE GUYS, THE PREDATOR). And he's considered one of the best genre writers in the business and is a script doctor himself, so his scripts don't usually have other hands involved beyond who's credited.

    Predator 2018 was too much of a mess simpler would have been better.

    Earlier this week, the Mail had a story about Tom Holland being ruled out. This may or may not be true, but there was a throw-away sentence near the end of the article which said: ‘The franchise's 26th film will go into production next April at Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire.’

    I’ve not seen this timeline before. Has anyone else?

    Sources say that Amazon’s deal with EON is structured as a joint venture, and over time the Broccoli company is going to get paid. Amazon has the majority stake. The $20M is believed to be an initial payment, with EON getting recompensed in different ways over time. This payment was part of the deal, not the entirety of the deal.

    $20m is very very nice, but knowing you may get another $980m is Amazon get it right - or a lot less if they screw up must be stressful as you no longer have any control.

    What absolute nonsense. Look at the date on the first post in this thread. Or are they trying to say that the deal was a secret before it was completed, which is kind of obvious isn't it? I thought Deadline were better than this?

    I simply don't know what they could mean. Are they saying that Villeneuve will have completed Dune to a stage that he can leave and shoot Bond 26, and hopefully complete principal photography on Bond before the Dune press tour? That's the only way I could see that working.

    Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s likely nonsense, but I think it’s not uncommon for people to have a short pause on the movie they’re making to promote the previous one, they don’t have to have finished it.

    Maybe Villeneuve would wrap up Dune by December or so..I don't know exactly, but something like that. So we'll get to know more about Bond 26 soon.

    As @mtm says, production of Bond 26 could go on a 2 week hiatus in the start of December 2026 to allow Denis Villeneuve to fulfill his press commitments. It's a novel idea but it just might save some time overall.

    The big question is, will they be in production by next Christmas 2026, when Dune Part 3 is set to release?

    I think once Dune 3 wraps, things would speedily unfold. Plus, there could even be another crew member/members announcement, before the year runs out.

    For me hearing that Roger Deakins and Hans Zimmer are back would be a huge deal. It would be good to have some people from previous Bond films returning.

    Yeah. I would love to have Deakins back too. But I don't think he likes James Bond. So Zimmer's more likely.

    I wonder if they will use Daniel Kleinman for the titles for Bond 26? Will he even be up to it if they asked him?

    Deakins and Zimmer back would be the dream combination of Villeneuve collabs, but I wonder if both may have a "been there done that" feel about the franchise now.

    Deakins, almost certainly. But if that means Villeneuve could pull off Greig Fraser or a Linus Sandgren return, either of them would also be terrific gets for DP.

    Zimmer may be the likelier of the two. By accounts, he and Steve Mazzarro were parachuted in to the NTTD post-production and didn't have very much time to actually create and deliver that score. I wonder if Hans could be tempted by a "here's more time, now redefine Bond's sound for the next generation" type of pitch...

    Not sure I trust Zimmer to redefine Bond's music. I like his work but I feel like his best are behind him.

    My pick for Bond 26 Composer, to redefine Bond music, while maintaining the familiar Bond sound...would be Ludwig Göransson. But with Villeneuve, it means Zimmer. Zimmer with enough time, would do great things. But if somehow, Villeneuve wants Göransson (which I doubt) I would be happy.
