There are no action scripts in the last 60 years which were written by just one writer.

Shane Black is an exception; he writes scripts either alone (LETHAL WEAPON, THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT, KISS KISS BANG BANG) or in partnership (IRON MAN 3, THE NICE GUYS, THE PREDATOR). And he's considered one of the best genre writers in the business and is a script doctor himself, so his scripts don't usually have other hands involved beyond who's credited.

    Incorrect @Escalus5 :

Many passes on LW1 the most notable being by Jeffrey Boam (dialogue and action).

The long Kiss Goodnight was revised/doctored by Carrie Fischer (yes, her), and Renny Harlin.

However, you are correct about KKBB; but there were still producer notes that Shane Black basically took and worked himself as his own script doctor using these notes. This is a little unique as this wasn’t a tent pole film (which you’ll see I was talking about above), and it was a smaller budget created by the writer/director.

So as I said, tentpole films in the last 60 years, including ones written by Shane Black, have been doctored by many writers. These are how large tent pole films have been made, and it isn’t going away any time soon.

Another week ticked off without significant Bond news. If they really are much further ahead then they are letting on then it's only a matter of time before something is leaked, you can't keep that much under your cap for too long. Still, the rumour that Villeneuve and Knight are butting heads creatively is encouraging. I can't wait for things to start gathering pace in 2026...

'Butting heads' means arguing, no? Villeneuve and Knight are in conflict about the creative direction of the next film? Where's that come from?

Getting this thread slightly back on topic...

As reported by The Spy Command:

    https://cnews.topnewsource.com/?p=2448&fbclid=IwY2xjawNeUqhleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFUZFJGOGp6dks3ZWdsaTNMAR6MApOZDZLjY4bekR2cfWwJjv1XnS4y4_FA64VCzW3Mn6wGCngAaVYmFMtgIA_aem_tdXzA7MOSw_Tbrnb0vGMZw

Sources familiar with early script sessions say the pair spent nine hours locked in the room, debating tone, stakes, and the character’s evolution — with Villeneuve advocating for a cinematic, visually bold Bond while Knight pushes for narrative depth and modern complexity.

Creative disagreement, when resolved constructively, can lead to excellence. I wouldn't start worrying just yet. The idea that a modern Bond film is "easy" to put together, especially in the scripting phase, feels a tad, uhm, naive.

I'd call that report dubious to the point of being easily dismissible.
