Concerning Austin Butler, his charisma and screen presence completely outshine Bond hopeful Callum Turner for me.
I find Turners screen presence or lack there of to be a factor for me as why he’s not high on my list for Bond number 7.

I have to agree with that mate.

I like Glen Powell too, but I think both him and Butler are too recognisable to be Felix. Jeffrey Wright was a bit more under the radar and perfectly cast in 2006

I've always said Boyd Holbrook would make a cool Leiter, although he's a bit older now (which I guess could work if they went more a Hendison/Dalton route with a slightly older Felix).

I can imagine Glenn Powell though, although he wouldn't be my first choice. In the nicest way possible I don't think he'd outshine the lead actor, which I think Butler could do more easily.
I think Holbrook is a good pick i take him over Butler too. I also think the Hedison/Dalton way worked well so why not do that sort of thing again?

I've only watched a five minute clip of Masters of The Air with Butler and Turner. I get the sense they give Butler's character more of that old school coolness by design, while Turner's character is slightly different (Butler seems to get all the close ups in the clips I watched!) I must say, I don't get the sense Butler is out-acting or even necessarily outshining Turner or anything. But maybe I'm not a huge Austin Butler fan... Not sure I'd particularly enjoy the show either if I'm honest.

Personally, I'd be very interesting in seeing how he auditions for Bond. I don't think he's ever quite played a James Bond sort of character (even in The Capture, which I think he's very good in, there's a sense he's on the backfoot for most of it/not fully in control as Bond would be). I get the sense from interviews he could channel his confidence into a Bond performance, so I really wouldn't be surprised if he gets it.

I think a part of it is because he had a robotic hand in Logan, so I can imagine him playing a version of Leiter who has the fake leg/hand.

I think he is a screentest material but would not be my first choice.

I like Turner, he deserves a screentest no doubt. I do wonder if his high profile relationship with Dua Lipa will hurt his chances? Similar to Hiddleston with Taylor Swift. By the time they're casting will he be "too famous" for being her boyfriend?

He's managed to stay surprisingly low profile so far. I wonder if that's because they're hopeful he can be Bond.

It doesn't look like his career is going anywhere. He's not the kind of quasi-star anyone would hire.

I don’t think Hiddleston dating Swift had anything to do with his chances of becoming Bond though… like, at all. He was already associated with the role of Loki, I suspect he simply wouldn’t have been right anyway, and most importantly there was already an incumbent Bond when he’d have been realistically considered.
