    I always thought Brody had too nice a face. But I guess his profile is closer to what they have been casting for the later part of the Craig era. Personally, I'd rather have lesser known actors, but maybe this ship has sailed now.

    There's a lot of fairly unknown veteran actors in Oppenheimer who I think could make very capable Bond villains. Jefferson Hall for instance. As Chevalier, he looked a bit like the novel's Hugo Drax. He just needed a shorter haircut and a burnt scar.

    You should be a casting agent. Well done ;)

    Watching Oppenheimer, I think about half the cast could make a great villain. I would prefer a fairly unknown veteran, but if they use the same approach as the later half of the Craig era, Cillian Murphy has the most chances of being cast: he's a renowned veteran actor, he's won an Oscar, he's the right age, etc. He wouldn't be my first choice, for the reasons stated before (too famous now, plus I'd rather see a more imposing villain), but I would not be surprised to see him cast.

    Stanley Tucci. When Blofeld returns he would be a great choice.
    It's a pity he didn't do it in Spectre instead of the awful portrayal we did get. Just my opinion of course.

    Tucci is okay, but I don't see anything that would make him a great Blofeld.

    Side note: why do so many people mention bald actors as potential Blofeld?

    Good question. I don't necessarily look at baldness as a first criteria, after all that can be dealt with, Nicholas Hoult in Superman.
    But if there is an actor I like and just happens to be bald it allows me to make an easy leap.
    Mark Srong would be another one I could see as Blofeld.
    As for a Blofeld with hair, I just prefer the bald look. It doesn't help that I thought the 2 official Blofelds we have had with hair were rubbish.

    In FRWL and TB he has hair. He has hair in the novels. And it's very debatable whether or not Waltz was rubbish, it's certainly not consensus. Be that as it may, it's not Blofeld haircut or baldness that define the character. Or that determines whether or not the character is well interpreted.

    In terms of Blofeld, I always thought Werner Herzog would've been great, especially after his villainous performance in Jack Reacher:

    Mark Strong could have been a brilliant villain. He's a brilliant actor, with a great presence and powerful voice. Perhaps him being in the Kingsmen series didn't help

    Herzog would, indeed, have made an excellent Blofeld. Radiating cold menace and a definite 'otherness.' You'd believe you were in the hands of someone who was capable of anything. So much so that, if written by someone like Paul Haggis, I could even see the potential for Herzog to have been the definitive screen Blofeld.

    He's too old now, I think. A few years ago I would have said Ciaran Hinds or Brendan Gleeson.

    I believe Strong auditioned for the role of Renard in TWINE, but he messed up his audition because he went out drinking the night before, with Daniel of all people

    I love Carlyle as an actor, I think he was suitably creepy as Renard, but Strong would have been physically more believable.
