FWIW, as an American, I have never had an issue with Sean Bean's accent.

    Alfie Allen
I think this fella will be talked about as a potential Bond soon, not that he'd be my choice. He's the lead actor in a new TV series called Atomic, it's coming out at the end of this month.

He's 38, been in Game Of Thrones, John Wick and interestingly he was a lead in the first series Steven Knight's series SAS Rogue Heroes.
Might be one to keep an eye on

He’s 5’9. That’s the same height as me, and I think it’s a little too small to be Bond convincingly. I just think there are better Bond contenders out there.

I don’t want to see him cast as Bond, but I think legitimately, Craig is, at the most, 5’9”

At least Craig can and did do a really good 'received pronunciation' accent that suited Bond. Whenever Sean Bean tries to do anything other than a Sheffield accent, he just sounds like someone trying desperately not to do a Sheffield accent! Or maybe it's only obvious to other Sheffielders, I dunno. Mind you, there has actually been a James Bond from Sheffield:

No I agree, I’m only a soft Southerner, but his GE accent did sound very unnatural and forced to me too.

Based on seeing him in person? I have on a couple of occasions, he struck me as taller than that.

My girls call me Shawty and Short-King.

I stand at an intimidating 5'9.

I've seen Craig front row in MacBeth, stood mere feet from him at TIFF, and saw him in Brooklyn last December.

    He's definitely not my height.

He's definitely not more than two inches taller than me.

    I'd estimate he's 5'10.5.

Always thought Sean Bean in GE was doing a bad impression of Derek Nimmo!!

I don't want him as Bond either mate, but I think he could get linked to the role after Atomic is released

If you're British, aged between 25 and 45, in a half decent series or film you get linked with Bond

Interesting pick but looks maybe too much of Craig, blue eyes and brown hair.

Alfie Allen has been typecast as a weasel character of sorts because, well, he looks the part. I wouldn’t want to look like him. So, Bond he is not.

Want a young Bond, give it to Louis Partridge, who will be in Knight’s House of Guiness. He looks the part. And could last decades in it.

Good presence for a twenty something year old, 1,83m, charming, could gain some physically with a few gym sessions. Perfect deep voice and accent. Oh, and good eyebrow game, which is essencial.

Still a bit unknown, apart from Enola Holmes, Alfonso Cuaron’s Disclaimer, and a few Austen adaptations. Could grow in the part. Become Bond and not have many other big aspirations beyond it. A loyal character actor, made big by Villeneuve and Knight’s script. A discovery in the likes of Connery himself. Why not?

Currently my number one candidate. If not Callum Turner or Theo James, and of they really want a young Bond, you can’t get better than this, looks wise, curriculum, …

Right? My thoughts exactly. A perfect blend. A mix but with his own thing going on. Besides, he’s very in the now with the new gen, being Olivia Rodrigo’s boyfriend.

I can’t imagine a better candidate for a young Bond scenario, really.

He’s also a good interviewee, and everyone seems to like working with him.

    AMAZON, get him now ;)

;) Raymond Chandler: "Every man wants to be James Bond and every woman wants to be with him"

Although, admittedly, I know nothing of Olivia Rodrigo, besides her looks :)

If that's what they want, a young Bond, he's 22 now, he'll be 24/25 when they film, probably. I had a masters degree by then, and was already working.

Yes, he played Theon Greyjoy. A very complex character. Well portrayed throughout his difficult arch. From a cowardly weasel to a redeemed corageous fella. Still, not Bond material. He also played the man who killed John Wick’s dog and stole his car, an idiot brat son of a russian mobster. He’s a very good actor, mind you. Easily detestable in villainous roles. A bit weird looking, IMO. Again, I can’t see James Bond when I look at him.

Not quite the correct thread for this so I apologise.
But in tribute the great Terrance Stamp I just wanted to say what a great Bond he could have been. He would have been amazing.
For a current suggestion, I think Dan Stevens would be good.
My money, however, is on Harris Dickinson. Not my favourite choice by any means but I think he will get the role. Just a feeling, in the words of Octopussy Bond.

I think Dan Stevens is high on that list who could have been Bond.

The idea of a young Bond makes me feel nervous, I think it's down to the lack of experience behind the scenes.

I'd feel less nervous about it if Debbie McWilliams was still in the room, casting her eye over potential candidates

Don't worry, a young Bond won't be a young Bond forever, it'll probably only effect the first movie. \m/

We’ll have to see what direction they go in with the actor. I think in practice any list of candidates will have an age range that’s quite wide (I dunno, let’s say late 20s to early 40s - I just can’t imagine them limiting it at this stage to 20 somethings and ignoring good candidates in their early to mid 30s). I also think it’s telling that MGW said publicly in 2022 that Bond’s ideal for an actor in his 30s and that in practice early/mid 20s is too young (EON had been saying stuff like that publicly throughout 2022 - ie. Bond should be contemporary, a cinematic release, what age the new actors should ideally be, and rather tellingly that they were the custodians of the franchise for better or worse etc. My suspicion is it may have been early negotiations between them and Amazon about what to do with the franchise in the long run, and this was MGW and BB putting pressure on them to preserve some sense of their creative direction. So my gut instinct is even if the next actor’s 30-31, the next Bond will likely be in his 30s).
