Remember him from The A-team and Gremlins 2.

Thunder in Paradise was a fun show...

Patrick Macnee appeared in the show along side Hogan and Jack Lemmon's son.

RIP David Rendall, opera singer. Below are the homages of his son Huw Montague Rendall and his son's fiancée Elisabeth Boudreault:

On the 21st July 2025 our dear Dad , David Rendall passed away peacefully in the New Forest surrounded by his family. The wealth of love and generosity, compassion and patience this great man gave the world will be sorely missed. His love continues to remain and fill us all and guide us all through this painful time. Tonight, at Glyndebourne, a place we all call our musical home, we will dedicate the performance of Le Nozze di Figaro in his memory. Dad, every note I sing from now until I join you, will hold you in its core. ❤️ thank you friends, colleagues and fans for your hundreds of messages of best wishes. ❤️

We lost our dear David on Monday, and his departure has left a deep hole in our hearts.

I had the luck of being part of his family, but also of studying with him. David took me under his wing and turned me around when I needed it most. He had this rare and unforgettable gift: he sang with his eyes. The real magic happened in that quiet moment before he even made a sound—I was always in awe of it. And then, his voice—pure, golden, and unmistakably his—poured out and went straight to your heart (popping high C’s well into his seventies!). That kind of singing can’t be taught; it comes from the soul.

We don’t see many singers like him today, but I recognise that same light and truth in Huw every time he steps on stage.

I’m so grateful that life has granted me a second family—one that I love deeply, and that welcomed me as one of their own. We will all miss David enormously and will cherish the memories, the joy, and the legacy he leaves behind.

Tonight’s performance of Le Nozze di Figaro will be dedicated to David, who paved the way for us here at Glyndebourne. We’ll do our best to sing it in his image: glorious, witty, full of heart—and of course, a little bit naughty. Just the way he would have liked it.

Macho Man Randy Savage cut a promo on Hulk Hogan in 1989 that might be the greatest thing to ever come out of professional wrestling. The heat could melt your screen:

Tom Lehrer, Harvard mathematician and prolific writer of satirical songs in the 1950s and '60s, died at the tender age of 97. Maybe his best-known song (there was a dispute with the late Viennese artist Georg Kreisler about who wrote it first) is this one.

Tom Lehrer waived his copyright on his entire repertoire on his website, https://tomlehrersongs.com/. If you haven't heard about him, check him out.

Here's also his obit in the NYT: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/27/arts/music/tom-lehrer-dead.html?unlocked_article_code=1.Zk8.yTfL.uHZ_76u3TH6s&smid=url-share

RIP Pierre Foglia. My favourite, and maybe the greatest Québec journalist.

Great tribute to the late Richard Kiel, among other actors, in the 2025 sequel Happy Gilmore 2.

Loved his character in the original film even more than I loved him as Jaws.

Three’s Company was a much better show. Loni auditioned for the part of Chrissy but Suzanne Somers got the part instead.
