I don’t mean I want a literal remake of Thunderball, just some echoes of it. It would be a perfect chance to use some of the unused Fleming water setpieces like Bond’s scuba infiltration of Big’s island from LALD, or even the Dr. No squid battle (which I actually think Villeneuve could pull off and make it a credibly harrowing setpiece, especially if he keeps the squid largely obscured in murky water) He even has some experience with rendering eerie squid things in Arrival…
Yeah it's funny, the MI scene is not dissimilar at all to the TND scene: right down to the tumbling missiles and even method of escape (oh, and the wreck is moving too!) but the TND bit pales in comparison quite a lot and never feels like a Flemingy physical test like MI does.
In fact to be honest I often skip the diving bit when I'm watching TND- it's not a massively interesting scene to me! :D
Oh yikes. Also using an AI illustration: bit naff guys!
Oh, yeah. I get that. I do love it, though. Arnold's score helps the scene :)
Wow! Sounds visually interesting...aurora lights!
There's actually a 'Northern Lights Safari' tour in Svalbard, between Norway and the North Pole.

I like the tracked dirt bike in particular.
Love it!
Let's get it done with it.

Both productions are using newly-developed IMAX film cameras that have apparently been designed to be quieter and lighter than the prior ones.
I do hope that, when it does come out, Amazon MGM doesnt cheap out and just provide a digital 1.43:1 IMAX release, like Universal did with NTTD. Give us a glorious 15/70mm film print - a couple of recent releases have benefitted theatrically from this - Sinners, Dune Part 2, Oppenheimer etc.
We have this weird situation where TV went widescreen 25 years or so ago, all TV shows fitted the new screens we all bought, and then recently they've been trying to look more cinematic so have introduced black bars at the top and bottom, whereas big movies in IMAX actually fit the screen: so shows made for my TV don't fit it whereas films made for the cinema screen do!
I think it's a shame that the Mission Impossible Fallout and subsequent films got released on home media with their IMAX scenes intact, whereas the IMAX bits of Skyfall and NTTD are never to be seen again.
