Oh, Pattinson's a great actor. No complaints about him. I like him as Batman.

I think the issue with him is that obviously he's connected to Batman, and I think even under Amazon they won't have a Bond who's playing another high profile role like that.

I think he'd be good to be honest, he's a very interesting actor. And although The Batman 2 is supposed to happen it's taking its sweet old time and I do wonder if it definitely will come about. I guess there's the question as to whether he'd want to be Bond after Batman though.

I guess one who should get a mention is Leo Woodall (although he's come up before). He's a good-looking fella and getting more lead roles so I guess that puts him on the radar, although to be honest I don't know if I'm fully convinced by his performances. But you never know.

I agree the Batman role may keep Pattinson off Bond, too.

Someone I'd love to have had as Bond, but it never was an option ... Viggo Mortenson. He's too old now, but also I think Bond would never have been his cup of tea. A great actor. I think he would have been wonderful, though, if time/fate allowed and if he had been open to it.

I'll go look up some of the others mentioned in other pages; all unknown to me and none exciting in looks - but it is different in film from a still, so I will check more out. No strong front runners for me, though.

Oh, I just thought of somebody! Sorry I did not think of him earlier.
    Corey Mylchreest - YES.
I only know him from Queen Charlotte (Netflix, part of Bridgerton family).
    He's 27, so a little young.

Hear me out: I have watched several series of Bridgerton and find it at times fun, at times annoying and/or stupid. So I'm not a big fan of it. BUT ... I loved the limited spin-off Queen Charlotte. Perfect cast and smart writing.
Corey was really excellent as King George III.

He has great looks, a natural charm. I am putting him out here even though I've never seen him mentioned as a potential Bond.

I do not know how to post a photo here. See if I can give you a link ... a few photos on this page ... https://esquire.com/uk/style/fashion/a63810713/corey-mylchreest-2025-interview-bafta/

Please let me know if the link works (it does not for me ...)

    The link didn’t work @4EverBonded

Not sure about Corey Mylchreest to be honest. He looks like the off spring of Steve Coogan.

However, I honestly believe that the casting process will see many, many names tossed into the hat. On a scale similar to when Connery first left the role.

As to Pattinson as Bond. I would be all for it. He’s a very talented and interesting actor.

That particular role of King George gave me good vibes about him as Bond.
This link works for me. It's in Esquire Feb. 17, 2025 issue

Keep scrolling down for several photos ...

Anyway, I like him as potential Bond now or 3 to 5 years from now. @Benny the links works the way I put it here.

Most of us like Pattinson for the role and feel he’d be favoured by the studio, but The Batman 2 does seem to be happening. Unfortunately such an actor is going to be in high demand.

Yeah, apparently he'll be going straight from Dune Messiah onto The Batman Part II. I think he would've been an excellent choice...

Here's a fit looking Tom Bateman from a few days ago. Unlike some candidates who need a weight gain, he always looks more Bondish to me when he's dropped a few pounds. He's a maybe for me. There's a manliness to him that a lot of other hopefuls in their mid 30s lack.

We’ve talked about a bit before. He’s not a crazy choice (I’ve brought his name up a few times), but he tends to look a bit too much like a rugby player in a suit. As you say, perhaps shedding a few pounds would make him look suitable.

Bateman already played a version of Bond in Into The Dark. He was very hammy.

If Holland is cast then I’m revoking my Bond Fandom card and calling it quits.

Yeah, Tom Holland is not a name I want to see associated with James Bond. For many reasons.

I do not want Tom Holland. Pretty "meh" on all three mentioned in the article.
Heck, I'm finally warming to Henry Cavill at this point. He looks leagues better than anybody else we've been shown.

OMG I hope the list is longer.

Timothée Chalamet is starting to seem like a good idea to me

Henry Cavill might be good for a trilogy or maybe 4, but I'd rather it be someone younger that can do it for longer, as long as they're the right person for the job. No Timothée Chalamet or Tom Holland, please. Bond should be particularly masculine-looking IMO as all the previous six actors have been.

At age 42, I'd take Henry at this point - two or three solid Bond films for his tenure. Let's do it!
The other choices are just nothing I can get behind.

Yeah, it's better than the other choices I think too. I can't imagine being able to take some of those seriously, but ever since Amazon took control, I've been expecting the worst at every turn. They could have done much worse with the director choice, at least, but many more things must fall into place nicely for my fears to be assuaged. I'm more than happy calling it a series with NTTD if they want to screw up the next Bond actor.

It will never be the same for me, with EON out ... but I desperately want it to be good. This next one is really sink or swim for Bond films.

The powers that be want younger, and I understand that - but if we all rise up and complain enough, we could still possibly get Henry. Which would be a safe bet - and if he were genuinely feeling up to giving it his best shot, I think it could be just fine. Only my gut instincts here ...

If the director is a die-hard Bond fan, I doubt he wants to do a young agent. I'm Bond-level sure of what's needed.

Hopefully the filmmakers have more ambition than hiring a bad choice who might be better than the other bad choices.

If it'll be one of those three dopeys then I'm d.o.n.e. Those are all bizarre options, not in the vain of Bond, more like Jamie Bond. In that case Amazon truly is waaaay out (Pascal/Hayman as well) of its dept. Sayo-effing-nara!

I keep saying don't count out Elordi because of his giant social media following (we're talking about Amazon, folks!) and everyone here gets mad.

That being said, he is my third choice of these three.

He is one of my options, but they are looking for younger people.

By the way, he seems to have more hair than before.

Joking aside, Holland I like, just not for Bond - I think he’s too short for this particular role (though obviously there are ways around that), and still too boyish. If they are going to ignore height requirements, Jack O’Connell would be a better pick (but I guess he might be too old).

Elordi I’ve only seen in Eurphoria. He wasn’t likeable in that, and I’m finding difficult see past that teen heartthrob look.

Dickinson is a good actor, I’ve seen him a few things, sometimes he was good, other times he was just okay; he might make a good Bond, but I’m not sold yet.

My feeling is this list is just speculation based on the reported idea that the producers are looking for someone under thirty. If they haven’t got a script yet they can’t know who is going to be suitable or not.

It is insane that we have gone from ***crickets*** to a director and potentially a Bond top three shortlist in two days.

Seems to be no particularly outstanding candidate.

    Keep it on ice.
