Anyway, I don't think Pascal and Heyman are going to be very involved creatively.

Then you really don’t know what a producer does, @DEKE_RIVERS .

    Let the painter paint?

Wow, Deke, come up with that all by yourself?

Joseph Kosinski? If F1 The Movie does big box office then he may be a possibility (assuming he would want to direct a Bond film). I think Amazon would want to hire a director with a recent hit/high profile film. Might be a good way to market the film.

Is Christopher Nolan too self-serious to direct a Bond film now?

I’m far less interested in who directs the new Bond film than I am in who’s gonna be writing it.

I don’t get the obsession with finding a big-name director; most of the best Bond films were directed by relative nobodies.

    Now I'd say yes.

I'd rather have a competent journeyman director, personally, at least on a generic principle, that said with Amazon it might not be such a good idea. Said journeyman might be too malleable.

    Rumours hotting up:

    https://www.darkhorizons.com/five-directors-pitching-for-next-james-bond-film/

The five names rumoured to be vying for director are:

    Edward Berger

    Denis Villeneuve

    Edgar Wright

    Paul King

    Jonathan Nolan

The cynic in me says that this is all just someone at Puck News trailing through our suggestions here, but we’ll see. I like Berger and Jonathan Nolan from this list.

    I have to agree.

At 5 am EST, Empire online published this as a lead, then pulled it inside of one hour:

    https://www.empireonline.com/movies/news/denis-villeneuve-edgar-wright-and-edward-berger-among-directors-pitching-for-the-next-james-bond/?fbclid=IwY2xjawLCAidleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHqElzIx0yHg2vd8Y5G1h1W0zbKZkfYE94W8v8o2wcVpaor004z-LyBROWSEb_aem_TwMFHkRucJicYDjPqSdSlQ&sfnsn=scwspwa

Something is amiss and the publication was told to kill the story.

I’m not optimistic that this story holds water…

Trouble is I don't really watch shows, don't have any sense of J Nolan as a director. I heard he was a major part in why TDK turned out so well.

Yeah, if Empire have pulled the story it must be dubious. I think the Bond game has stirred the waters and reminded the less scrupulous that Bond news sells. This list does feel like we’re getting our own crap fed back to us.

I quite like the idea of Denis Villeneuve. Left field suggestion: Ricardo Trogi. He does mostly bittersweet comedies, with heavy accent on nostalgia. I think he could get the nostalgic aspect of Bond.

He really should change his name to Matt Baloney.

Michel Gondry ( Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Be Kind Rewind)

I bought another movie directed by him: La Science Des Rêves aka The Science Of Sleep (2006) a French movie in French, English and Spanish. Let i say i get bit of Roald Dahl, Wes Anderson and Peter Jackson vibe.

    And made this movie.

But he also worked with Radiohead, Sheryl Crow, Bjork and Jack White before (Jack White is one of the singers of Another Way To Die).

Radiohead was considered for Spectre title song, to soon if you ask me.

I am impressed with the short list of potential Director's?

I think Edgar Wright would be my choice.

Edgar Wright would be awesome, one of my favorite living directors !
And Sam Claflin as James Bond would be my choice !

If we reach the end of the year without a director, could Christopher Nolan swoop in?
