Just picked this up from a charity shop, has some pretty cool stuff in. I will likely read it and donate back to charity. I have given away a lot of my Bond books recently as going more minimalistic.

Yeh, I got that book when it came out! Pretty good

I have had a quick look through, some great images.

I watched the new video on the 007 youtube channel about the set and prop design which features Meg Symmonds the Eon archivist, and I'd love a big coffee table book like that where they go through the archive and photograph the old set designs and props they have in there, that would be great. All those treasures!

The production behind the films certainly during Cubbys era has always fascinated me, the production was one of the key factors that set the movies apart from anyone who attempted to immintate.

How about a Cubby Broccoli Spaghetti family recipe? A Broccoli cook-book if you will.

The latest addition to my book collection is this 1979 first-edition that covers the Bond films up to Moonraker. Funnily, it also includes Casino Royale 1967, tugged in between YOLT and OHMSS. I remember flipping through this unattainable book back then (it cost DM 16,80, while my pocket money was 2 DM per week). I had not seen every Bond movie until then and his book retold the scripts in gripping detail, illustrated with publicity shots and scene shots in black and white. I believe this was the first "big" book on the James Bond films in Germany.

It also features an appendix with crucial biographical information about the actors and actresses that played Bond, the baddies and the Bond girls - which other films they starred in. That was information that was almost impossible to obtain back then without buying serious movie magazines. Quite unbelievable nowadays, when all this information is only a few clicks away.

Anyway, another quest from my youth completed.

I bought the second edition of that book when I was doing my military service in Trier. No CR '67 there. Still very informative indeed.

Years ago there was a segment about one of the Dalton films or GE and they did a quick visit to the archives and showed a few of the props on shelves and I was fascinated and wanted more. The 007 Fan Club did conventions in the early '90s where they brought out the props and they've been part of traveling exhibitions. I just wonder what will happen to all of this with Amazon in charge.

Taschen did a similar book with Kubrick's collection showing his archives and I could see a similar book being done, just as long as they don't charge an out-of-reach price like with their recent Dr. No book.

Just acquired: Original pencil drawing by Jason Masters (artist for the first couple of Bond graphic novels), this one for an alternate cover for Issue #1 of Black Box:

I remember seeing these in Dixons and Curry's back in the day.
    Does it still work?
I had TLD game on the ZX Spectrum +2, it took an age to load and the graphics were rather basic. But in '87, '88 it was a game I'd play for hours.

It still works. It had a full service back in 2022. I never had a Spectrum back in the day, though my brother had an Amstrad 464+, so the slow loading and 'take out tape and turn it over' aren't new to me. :))

This one even come with Bonds passport, and a good luck letter from Moneypenny, both items were probably lost by most owners.

I had a ZX and a Soectrum plus 2, happy days... Major nostalgia buzz.

When I got a ZX plus 3 it was revolutionary.

The rubber keys on the ZX were a nightmare 😂

My 007 Sean Connery 4K steelbook 6 film collection just arrived. I got a numbered certificate of authetification I am wondering if this will be a limited edition Boxset.

Had a quick look at DN which looks amazing, I got chills from the Bond/Trench scene in the casino the colours look so rich.

I have various versions of the films, I do like the Amazon digital HD download and Bond50 Boxset versions though many of the films look overly bright.

Had a quick play of DAF and it sounds great with Dolby Atmos.

The US version of this set apparently only has the 4K disk the UK has the 4K disk and the Bond50 bluray disk of the film included.

The Boxset itself is similar to the Christopher Reeve Superman Films 4K Boxset I have which I like a lot. The steel books get plenty of protection from the foam interior.

Cheers mate, I have several days off work from tomorrow so only one thing I'll be doing... watching these awesome films.

The artwork, some have complained I have no issues, Sir Sean is front and center.

Flicking between my Amazon digital copy and 4K copy of DN they have fixed the aspect ratio.

Wow DN looks so much more natural and cinematic on remastered 4K disk, I am impressed, it's the best DN has ever looked.

Truly a fantastic purchase, I'm glad you are enjoying them. Physical media I believe is so important. As you can escape anytime you want or need too. :-bd
