    I expect Pascal & Heyman to be smart enough and not hire Ritchie. I don't even know which current director, Ritchie is better than.

    I quite liked "The Covenant", and he's gotten good reviews for his "Gentleman" and "Mobland" shows. I think his biggest issue is he gets a little too overindulgent in terms of his own taste and characterization.

    This is the first ‘good news story’ that I have seen in quite a while in our media landscape. Mescal is also tied up - now we just need Theo James to sign up for Downton Abbey 2027 to ‘drain the swamp’ here ahead of getting some proper talent on board for Bond 26. Ritchie would make John Glen look like Fellini.

    You don't like him and that's fine but he's not Vaughn.


    And Marc Forster is at least younger than Campbell.

    I wouldn’t be against Campbell, but I think new blood is called for. Folks always bring up GE and CR, but the chances of having lighting strike three times with Campbell is not high. He needs actual good material to work off of.

    I remember even in 2005 there was skepticism of him returning to Bond, because he had just delivered THE LEGEND OF ZORRO which was a significant step down from the first. It was reasonable to worry he might not do well with a second Bond at the time. Luckily his second Bond was better than his second Zorro.

    I’d take Ritchie for Bond over Matthew Vaughn or David Yates (the latter would be a worst case scenario in my opinion). But none are right for Bond I’d say.

    Now that you say it, maybe hiring a guy who is a bit on the back foot with critics, but not totally a f-up, is the way to go. With Luca Guadagnino now off of Sgt. Rock and probably a little embarrassed, I bet he'd be easy to get for Bond.
