Yes, he is on the list for sure.
Funnily enough, they're alike. Edgar Wright is almost in their mould too.
And Campbell was better than Tamahori, only marginally. ;)
Campbell better than Tamahori marginally? Lol, wow!
As much as Guy Ritchie and Vaughn.
Exactly.
You don't like him and that's fine but he's not Vaughn.
And Marc Forster is at least younger than Campbell.
I remember even in 2005 there was skepticism of him returning to Bond, because he had just delivered THE LEGEND OF ZORRO which was a significant step down from the first. It was reasonable to worry he might not do well with a second Bond at the time. Luckily his second Bond was better than his second Zorro.
I’d take Ritchie for Bond over Matthew Vaughn or David Yates (the latter would be a worst case scenario in my opinion). But none are right for Bond I’d say.
Now that you say it, maybe hiring a guy who is a bit on the back foot with critics, but not totally a f-up, is the way to go. With Luca Guadagnino now off of Sgt. Rock and probably a little embarrassed, I bet he'd be easy to get for Bond.
