That's good. "Obi-Wan" and "Boba Fett" should have been films too. They had 2 hour stories stretched to 6.

Yes to both. Lando does hold promise. IF it gets made, of course.

I have zero interest in a Lando show or film, they need to be focusing on making a great Old Republic series of films IMO.

As a huge Lando fan I’m thrilled to be getting Glover back in the cape. TV or movie, both are fine by me!

I hate to say this, but I’m starting to believe this. One critical or financial flop from a writer/director, and they kicked off a Star Wars project.

They've said that's not true, but I hope it is. Waititi is a bit of a mess if you ask me.

I have mixed feelings about him, myself. I still wish we could have (or could still get) Patty Jenkins and Rogue Squadron. It would be interesting to see a Star Wars movie focused solely on pilots.

Ahsoka E6 Again some good visuals though what is really undermining this show is how idiotic some of the characters decision making is which presents them as fools.

The fundamental issue is the live action show is written exactly like the cartoon was which makes it very predicable and basic, the viewer can see things happening way ahead of the characters and the dialogue is flat and unimaginative. To be fair to Rebels there were some good episodes with strong writing.

Filoni should give his idea's to a more capable TV live action writer because he is an amateur when it comes to writing real people and characterization.

I loved it. I think the show is unpredictable so far, that what makes it so engaging.

Thrawn fell a bit flat for me, he was not really intimidating and did not come across as the genius he is supposed to be.
That is down to the writing.

Ahsoka E7 after episode 4 I thought there was promise for the show, after this one it's just nonsensical and a waste of time its just stupid.

The writing is just abysmal and belongs on a Saturday morning cartoon not live action, the worst episodes of Rebels were better than this.
  • Sometimes I feel these shows should be released all at once - Netflix style. It's easier to critique after the whole story has been revealed.

I found watching the episodes in bulk made them far more satisfying for some reason. I got a greater sense of story than I think I would have watching them weekly.

It's one of the issues I have with the Disney+ model. I do like having a new episode to look forward to, but the shows themselves feel like they were written to be binge-watched.

Ahsoka may have worked better as a TV movie, there is a lot of staring and long pauses that could be cut to reduce the run time.

I think it is curious they haven't just gone for a TV movie for Star Wars yet. We've had stuff like Prey on there.
The Lando film feels to me like it may be more suited as a TV movie.

Lucas Film must be instructed to maximise viewership and told to create 8 weeks of content (8 episodes).

As a casual Disney + subscriber I unsubscribe when there is no Star Wars more often than not. So if they hypothetically made a TV movie they would have only got one months subscription from me as apposed to two.

I watched the leaked trailer for The Acolyte it does look interesting, the fact it is set 100 years before The Phantom Menace is a plus point.

If The Acolyte is set roughly 132 BBY a young Darth Plagueis could appear?

Ahsoka E8 The season finale... well that was a whole lot of nothingness that flip flopped from mind numbingly stupid to hilariously bad. Thrawn attempting to convince everyone that he is intelligent is Spaceballs level funny at times, Thrawn makes Dr. Evil look like Albert Einstein the failings of this show lay souly with Filoni and his terrible writing.

Arguably 2 of the best characters were pretty much discarded in the last episode and barely got a few seconds each.

I like they have the sheer balls to put a trademark notice at the bottom saying 'the Empire Strips Back is an original licence' whilst having the whole thing full of copyrighted intellectual property! :D

The link says 'Star Wars: Ahsoka Creator Dave Filoni Named Lucasfilm's Chief Creative Officer'. I'd be curious to know who the previous one was?

Shame that they don't talk about anything but Star Wars. Why can't LF make anything else?

LucasFilm did try expanding with Indy and Willow and both failed.

Though it would be cool to see them make wholly original material. Maybe revive projects that had been under the works by Lucas but weren’t realized.

Daisy Ridley might be the first character who ages naturally with her role.

Didn't Luke, Leia and Han do that?
And she's not going to do that if it's set 15 years after the one that came out 5 years before.
