Davi was on fire in this film.

As a teen, way back then, Talisa Soto informed me so much on my…tastes.
And yeah, Timothy Dalton IS James Bond!

I find it interesting how as the films progressed the shots became more publicity focused and posed shots. You can tell that the studios were putting tighter control on what could and could not be shot.

Most of these photos, although lovely to see, are posed shots and not candid photos like some of the older films. Be interesting to see what we get by the time we reach Dan's era.

When she walked into my pre-pandemic store I was truly starstruck. All dressed down, not much makeup (clearly not wanting attention), still so amazing. I used restraint. She was 10 feet from me...

Good thing that you used restraint, otherwise she would've had to use a restraining order.

She's not small. She could protect herself. See: Mortal Kombat.

I can't remember who was asking about foreground miniatures, but this is a good shot of the one from TLD. It makes the bridge look much taller than it actually is. Everything above the road is real, everything below is a model (you can see how high it really is in the shots in the film taken from Bond's POV as the plane flies over).
That was myself and a couple of others discussing it. I find it fascinating that these models can be right in the viewer's face and not know it, seamlessly connected to the background. I'm compiling a list - so far it's:
    Univex helicopter exiting the factory
    Acrostar exiting the hanger
Miniature bridge in front of real bridge
    Meditation institute helicopter entrance

Yes I often find the Meditation Institute one distracting because the massive opening door casts no shadow! :)
I feel like there must be more but can't think of any immediately; I'll have a ponder.

Here's another good pic of the TLD one, where it looks weirdly tiny (I'm sure it wasn't!)
    john%2Brichards%2Bliving%2Bdaylights%2Bbridge2.jpg

EDIT: Actually, I think some of the images of the deck of Atlantis in TSWLM must've been foregounds- you can see guards walking about and the helicopter is real in a few shots I think.

    Also this shot from Moonraker:

    moonraker%2Bderek%2Bmeddings%2Bminiature.jpg

When you look carefully you can see that the lorry isn't in scale- it's way too small for those guys! :D

Plus of course this, slightly different effect: a background miniature!

    severnaya%2Bgoldeneye%2Bmeddings%2Bminiature%2Balan%2Bcumming.jpg

It's probably worth its own thread really.

Apparently the bridge diorama was about 20ft long by 4ft high, so still an impressive size miniature.

I wonder if the one they blew up was the same one they used on location? There may have been different scales used possibly.
I wonder if that photo above is of a test maquette or something rather than the final thing- it doesn't look 20ft wide.

That's true, the one they blew up was a different model to the one in front of the bridge on location - a 1:4 scale model built at Pinewood and designed to break apart at specific sections. Footage slowed down to simulate larger and heavier pieces falling.
