    The clip consists of portions of two interviews that Casey did with NFL films. One, during his playing days, the other 30+ years later. As I said he was a "different breed of cat."

    Very sad to hear of the death of Kingsley Amis's novelist son Martin Amis, aged 73. I enjoyed Martin Amis's interview with Charlie Higson on BBC Radio 4 back in 2007 in Amis, Amis and Bond. I remember him saying he came up with some of the humorous names of the Bond girls in his father's The Book of Bond or Every Man His Own 007 (1965).

    He also responded to your blog once! I was suprised to hear the news. 73 feels early, but cancer will strike at any time. I confess that while I've read half a dozen of Kingsley's books, I haven't read any of Martin's.

    Yes, that's correct, on the very date the article went up too. At least I think he did! I've had my doubts since whether it was really him or just someone messing around but I'd like to think it was him. I guess we'll never know for sure now.

    I was surprised by his death too but I see Wikipedia says he was a lifelong heavy smoker so that doesn't do anyone any favours. It's notable that his father was also 73 when he died back in October 1995.

    Ah, that's nice. I never realised one of his novels was there at Bond's Jamaican retreat in NTTD. A fitting tribute to the links between the Amises and Bond.

    Definitely came out of nowhere. He's been all over the place lately. Sad news, I always liked him. I've still not seen Rome but always thought he was hilarious as the henchman in The Other Guys.

    Not a person, but the 97 years old (nearly 100 years) Neoclassical Post Office Building in Manila, I know it's been reported there in your countries, it's such a historical building, but now it's been succumed to fire.

    Manila Post Office was built around the American Era in the Philippines in 1926.

    Hoping that there's a chance for its rehabilitation and renovation, here's hoping 🤞

    I think he's had enough publicity and fame during his long life. We don't need to add to it here by mentioning him by name. He had a much longer life than many more virtuous people had but I suppose they say that the Devil is good to their own.
