Indy films aren’t usually quite that complex narratively.

They might be trying new things and ideas. Especially now that Lucas and Spielberg aren’t as in charge as they once were.

This takes place at the end of the sixties. We may see some modern and edgy editing styles that mirror the era, like Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (the big budget film that Russ Meyer shot for Fox, it's really terrific)... or On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

With Sallah and Marion (heavily rumored) to be coming back, who are some other Indy alumni who could come back? Short Round, Dean Charles Stanforth, and just maybe Mutt Williams are my guesses, especially if this is a finale for Harrison Ford’s storyline.

I don't really want old characters for the sake of it- I'm a little nervous of Sallah being in it to be honest. Characters need to have a reason to be in a film, and I don't think fan service is a good enough reason.
Marion I have no objection to because she's his wife and is part of his daily life, she should appear at some point.

I do hope Mutt is back (briefly), purely because if he isn't, I'll be thinking about meta reasons why he's not there.

I liked Crystal Skull (a lot) more than most people did, but one weak point was thinking 'Oh, that guy was probably gonna be...' more than once.

I would have no problem with a Mutt cameo, but the chances of that happening are slim to none. I think Shia has burned enough bridges with the Indy team that you'll never see him again. And there's no reason why he has to be there. His character will be a grown man who can be off doing anything. Personally, I think it would be weirder not to see Marion, at least for one scene, considering Indy is married to her and lives with her.

I guess seeing the little monkey from ROTLA -- "Bad dates..." -- won't happen. Monkey died. But, perhaps ANOTHER monkey, this time one working FOR Marion, Sallah and Indy ?

More rumors. I call major bs on one of them. The others are possible or more or less confirmed.
  • A very interesting video! As @MaxCasino said, one of them is total B.S. and it makes me doubt everything else about the post. I would, however, be fine if the other items were true.

There's a (pretty poor quality) version of the trailer going around...

Wow, it (seems to) look fantastic. Beautiful cinematography and action. Never thought I’d see Ford back as Indy after years of development hell.

It does look pretty stunning from that, doesn't it? Can certainly see why there were such positive noises about it.

I hope they change the music and just put the proper Raiders march in though, trailer music is rubbish sometimes :)

It can be, trailer music for SP and NTTD was 👌🏻

It regards a dead villain’s comeback, after they truly died. Trying not to spoil it for anyone who doesn’t want it spoiled.

I don't remember much about the SP trailer music, except for the track that used OHMSS, but I loved NTTD's music for the trailers, TV spots, that video about the posters competition... I would love it if some kind soul would put all those pieces of music out there.

I won't bother with the Indiana Jones trailer. I'll just save the excitement for the theater. On the other hand, I won't take an absolute anti-spoilers stance like I did with NTTD, which was a bit of an exception on my part. I won't go out looking for info on the story of the movie, but won't go out of my way to avoid it either.

Even with it’s poor quality, this trailer feels more like an authentic Indiana Jones film than Crystal Skulls ever did.

I think there's certainly fuel for the time machine rumour fire in there (a plane taking off into a strange blue lightning storm), but I agree it feels great so far. Seems weird to say considering there's so little in the trailer, but it feels like the character of Indy more already than it did in Skull.

So, I've just seen it, and it seems that the film is apparently gonna have flashbacks? Or are the rumours about the film being about time-travel true?

I did see what look like....
    A de-aged Ford in there.

    So, maybe.
