    Just saw preview for Uncharted...wow ! In terms of where does Bond go after Craig, films like this one, and the MI films, have def. raised the bar in terms of entertaining adventure films with big, extraordinary action sequences...

    I thought Uncharted was rubbish! Poor characters and story, and the action was distincly lacking in thrills!

    I had a good time with Uncharted, but I never played the games. It was enjoyable, unremarkable fluff.

    Nice. We all know Michael Giacchino scored The Incredibles after Barry turned it down, and did a great job emulating Barry in that movie. I would be happy if he came on board for the next Bond film.

    If The Batman is a massive hit at the box office, watch this film to see the mood and tone for the next Bond film. This is an absolute certainty. Recent Bond films have followed the trend of Batman as closely as, say the Bourne franchise.

    And from what we understand of this film, its gritty, dark, scary, violent. So all those clamouring for underwater Lotus cars, double-taking pigeons, Tarzan yells and invisible cars - forget it! ;)

    Well, according to this article, Phoebe Waller-Bridge is going to be the Screenplay writer for Bond 26.

    And according to the article, she said she would sneak in a bit of Feminist humour, so either we're getting a scene where:

    On the one hand, I think a shake-up is a good idea: new actor, new "continuity" after the Craig era, and new screenwriters to go with. Purvis and Wade have had their innings.

    On the other hand: I can see why Waller-Bridge was such a hot property during the height of Fleabag's success, and getting her for NTTD felt like a coup. But I'm not sure I 'felt' her presence in the NTTD script all that much, and I wonder why it wouldn't be a better idea to move on to someone completely new. I thought part of the appeal was that she and Craig knew one another?

    I wouldn't be remotely worried about Phoebe WB writing Bond 26, but the article says only that she 'could' write it - and 'could' is a long way from 'will', after all. Same with Phoebe 'reportedly' writing it - that's not the same as 'is' writing it. The bit about her 'sneaking in feminist humour' was in relation to NTTD, too - and, as you say, there wasn't all that much in it, right? Nowt to be concerned about, I reckon.

    To paraphrase, she has said that Bond has got to continue to be Bond; I would have no concerns about her scripting the next film. In fact I think that her perspective would prevent an overcompensating for modern trends.

    Yeah NTTD detractors are a protected class here since the release of the film. Suggesting victimhood and mistreatment doesn't ring true.

    I note folks new to the forum that liked the film pretty much didn't stick around. I can understand that.

    I think personally if they do take influence from it, it'll be more the younger, no origin story approach as opposed to the tone. Although never say never I guess.
