Sean Bean sounds like a bloke from Sheffield desperately and consciously struggling not to do a Yorkshire accent.

I wonder what was the thinking behind Bean adopting that accent? Really grates!

Natalya comes onto Bond a bit too quick to convince!

Oh God, he's back......Jack bloody Wade!
This was an ideal time to test those stinger missiles in the new car!

The most cringeworthy sequence in the film.
The beach encounter. With its chocolate box visuals and godawful dialogue!!
    At least Natalya looks sexy!

Brossa wears combat gear in 3 of his 4 appearnces! Must have been in his contract!
Still, betterI suppose than the white trousers/ brown shoes he wears in TWINEs finale!

Final encounter with Xenia. Reckon this would have been more effective if they saved it for the last reel. Would have been a nice callback to the earlier movies when the henchman/ woman turns up at the end!

My original viewing in the cinema didnt have that shot of Xenia headbutting Natalya!

Hope Brossa and Izabella didnt get any ass burn sliding down that satellite dish?!

This finale is drawn out and dull! Did nobody notice this fuel leaking everywhere? You just cant get good help these days!

    The pen clicking nonsense!
Did anyone ever count to see does it end on the right click? I cant be bothered!

    "No, for me!"
    For Gods sake!!!

Ok, time to switch off as that interminable dirge of a song coming up, and just before it, Jack bloody Wade turns up again!
Well this is second to last in my rankings, not quite as bad as DAD, but could never see why it has so many fans! Over and out!

    Classic GE write up, @Mathis1!

Here's The Experience of Love for us all to sing along with.............

I know you dream a lot
    Holding on to lies
    And you wait around
For someone to know where you hide
In your dreams, you feel a lot
But you keep it all inside
    And you close your eyes
    It helps keep you alive
    But the experience of loving
Won't take all the pain away
Just understanding for the first time
What you feel inside, love is in your life
(The experience of love, first time)
    And having come this far
    Cherishing your dreams
    You have realized now
How they help keep you alone
    And the experience of loving
Won't take all the pain away
Just understanding for the first time
What you feel inside, love is in your life
Breathing in the scent of love
    (Leave the dreams behind)
Sensing life in everything under the sky
    And the experience of loving
Won't take all the pain away
Just understanding for the first time
What you feel inside, love is in your life
    Searching forever
(The experience of love, under the sky)
Won't take all the pain away
    For the first time
    (Under the sky)
    Love is in your life
    (The experience of love)
Take it below, feel the flow
Hold it close, don't let it go
(The experience of love, under the sky)
It won't take all the pain away
    (The experience of love)
    For the first time
    (Under the sky)
When love is in your life
    (The experience of love)
    For the first time
    (Under the sky)
    Searching forever
    (The experience of love)
    For the first time
    (Under the sky)

Pierce's outfit in the third act of TWINE doesn't work for me either. It looks alright as he's in the torture chair, but after he removes the jacket and we get to the submarine, I don't think it looks too flattering on him.

Time for another comments, and one of my least favourites.

I think I counted once, but I don't remember if it added up. Something for my next watch.

I'm suddenly in the mood for

THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN

Old SE DVD edition: the Gunbarrel has blue dots.

Great opening shot. One of my favorites in the series.

    Wonderful Barry score.

I love Marc Lawrence. He's in quite a few movies back in the 1940's.
I loved when Golden Age of Hollywood actors appeared in the Bonds.

Christopher Lee remains my all time favorite actor. A ranking he's he's had now exactly 40 years when I first saw DRACULA PRINCE OF DARKNESS on television late one Friday night.

What I want to know is: Were they blue in the original film print? And was that deliberate?

The suspense during the PTS slowly builds. I love it.

Changed my mind and went with the Blu-ray. Fuller sound.
    Great title sequence.

I'm curious about that myself. I think they might've been. Perhaps Binder tweaking it a bit? The old CBS/FOX Home Video edition had the blue dots, yet they were white one the MGM/UA home video version.

I love Sir Roger's reading of "My name is Bond, James Bond" as he enters Saida's dressing room.

I like the bit of Bond adjusting his tie on the security camera monitor.

Another change is MR taking the gunbarrel from TSWLM and making the background inside the circle yellow.

I tend to think some of those changes are more noticeable on the home video formats.
I saw a double bill of TSWLM and MR on 35mm prints awhile back, and the yellow background was far more subtle. The blood on both films was a deeper red.

The overall color palette is more muted on the Blu-ray than the 2000 SE DVD.

The little fight at Hai fat's is funny, but pales in comparison to the legend that is CHULA CHULA CHULA CHULA.
