I don't know if this has been mentioned but was I just rewatching Skyfall, and all of a sudden I really noticed how the line from Judi Dench in the "working in the shadows" scene between her and Mallory where she says: "The place you say doesn't exist" is so obviously dubbed in, and I wish I hadn't noticed cause it's really going to bother me now haha :D

Not an observation from a film, but I'm surprised I didn't know until today that Dr. No and The Beatles first ever single (Love Me Do) were released on the same day (5th October 1962).

That is a very cool fact. I'm surprised that doesn't get trotted out more often.

This series is renowned for its car chases, but it just dawned on me yesterday that only one movie features a car chase for the climatic action scene: Licence to Kill.

well, it is more of a truck chase :P
...which IIRC is the only truck chase in the Bond canon so far

Never noticed at the end of AVTAK when Dr. Mortner goes to get the dynamite, there is just a shelf full of uzi's right next to it.

Rather than use a high round ammunition weapon with near guarantee to hit Bond from close range, with no risk of self inflicted damage... the man chooses a pack of dynamite! Which not only presented a fatal risk (that occurred!), but would also have had a low success rate in the first place. Not only did it require a direct hit, but the dynamite throw would need to have been timed perfectly, because if he throws too early it just bounces off Bond and lands on the poor civilian passersby on the bridge.

Then again... my mind doesn't work like that of a former nazi scientist, with a passion for steroid genetic breeding and equestial frivolities.

Watching my NSNA bluray recently, I noticed how prominent Connery's tattoos were in the Kim Basinger massage scene. They look really out of place on 007! Damn high definition 😁

Drax is wearing leather gloves in the pheasant shooting scene, but when calling the dogs over to go after Corinne he is still able to snap quite loud. You can see he still has the gloves on too mid-snap.

I might have to have another viewing, but in NTTD when Bond places his gun in the drawer in his desk at his house in Jamaica, we can see the shells that Vesper had in her handbag that Bond discovers at the end of CR.

I remember there was a little conch shell in the drawer, was there one of those in Vesper's bag too?

This is the first time I've caught this but in Dr No when Honey is telling Bond that she can get 50 dollars for a certain shell there's an object in front and below her bobbing up and down. I can't make out exactly what it is... it could be a hat, bag or the back of a crew member. Although I've no idea why someone would need to be sat on the ground like that, unless they were meant to grab the net of shells she's about to hand down.

Interesting find @BondAficionado. I checked the scene, you are right. Unfortunately, I have no idea what it is.

I'm just surprised I hadn't seen it before this week. And I don't think the aspect ratio was any different to how I normally watch it.

I didn't realize that to date Chris Cornell is the first and only Bond title song singer to have died. (Louis Armstrong sang the secondary song in OHMSS). Ironically, he passed away about three months prior to DC's announcement that he would return for Bond 25 (NTTD). There is a lot of irony to unpack here.

I suppose you can't count Matt Monro because he didn't sing over the credits.

Sat down to watch The High Commissioner tonight, a 1968 film starring Rod Taylor and Christopher Plummer. Couldn’t help but notice that in one of the film’s early scenes, we see Leo McKern behind the Bodil Kjær desk that can also be seen in FRWL, YOLT and OHMSS. Not only that, the lamp on the desk to our left also features in TB and YOLT – and in the latter film in the exact same place!

The High Commissioner was made at Pinewood Studios, so it's maybe not a surprise to see a few furniture pieces being reused.

Third viewing of NTTD I noticed Bond has the scars on his chest he gained in SF. Nice touch.

Before Q connects Valdo's USB to his laptop, he asks Bond where it has been, to which Bond replies, "Everywhere, I imagine." It didn't hit me until maybe the third viewing that said USB had indeed been places - in this case, embedded deep in enemy territory:

    Up his ass.

This is something I noticed ages ago, but not sure if mentioned here yet. It reminds me of when Connery plays hopscotch over the guard's body in the GF PTS.

It's another funny little step Connery does, in TB. When they meet up with Pinder and Felix asks who the girl is ("Paula Caplan, my assistant here") we see them walking off, and cue Connery engaging in some fancy footwork. He looks at Martine, turns back to look ahead, and at the last second, spots a guy coming towards him, carrying a basket with his elbow sticking out.

It looks like his left foot slips on something, but what actually happens: with panther-like reflexes, Connery pops out his left foot, switching the weight onto his right foot, and twists his left shoulder forward and down, avoiding a collision with the oncoming man's elbow. Amazing 'feat' there. Unrehearsed, improvised; kept in the film.

This is more because I don't really pay much attention to specific timestamps of when things happen in movies, but I never realized that the first time we see Eva Green's face in Casino Royale is 58 minutes into the thing.

The driver of the Ford chasing the Lotus, is wearing the same shirt and tie combo as Bond. I'm guessing it's one of the stunt drivers who doubled Roger Moore.
