There’s new dialogue exchanges in part two of the James King Radio show (28mins, 30mins). Potential big spoiler.
Nomi: The world’s moved on since you retired, Commander Bond. Perhaps you didn’t notice?

Bond: No, can’t say I had. And in my humble opinion, the word doesn’t change very much.

    Nomi: You Would say that.

    And

Safin: people want oblivion, and a few of us are born to build it for them. So here I am. Their invisible god. Sneaking under their skin.

Plus that nice clip of Q briefing Bond on the watch gadget, and Bond sounding nicely cheesed off with him :)

    Which minute is that?

Hum a phone, is a model post-2019 or not ? Any smartphone expert here ?

Uhm that’s the 2019 model. Not the upgraded one as seen in the latest Nokia spot with Nomi.
Are we talking about the Nokia Bond holds in the car? That is a model I don't recognize.

    The concrete runtime:

163 minutes 51 seconds (Theatrical and Blu-Ray, 24 frames per second)

157 minutes 18 seconds (TV and DVD, 25 frames per second)

Ridiculous ! Concrete cannot run. At best, it can flow, and only when liquid, before it hardens...

I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that tickets were on sale to go to it too, can't remember where I saw that.

Oh no, that was a chat with Edith Bowman; somewhere in London I think. NFT? BFi?

Is Bond getting shot in the very begging of the new trailer (the bridge scene)? Have we seen that before??? **I realize we have seen him getting shot AT but that recoil + the dust on the bridge and the ground make it look like he get's hit.** Does the bullet hit him before the side of the bridge?

They brought back the shot of
Felix on the floor during the boat explosion, injured

There's a open spoiler in the text on that Jamaican container company site:

An official partner of the 25th James Bond film, No Time To Die, CMA CGM granted filmmakers EON Productions unprecedented access to Kingston Container Terminal in Jamaica to shoot an action sequence with a seaplane, and the vessel CMA CGM FORT SAINT GEORGES features in the film when Bond is rescued from the ocean.

  • Enjoyed that Jamss King interview a lot! Great snippets of what's shaping up to be a memorable score and some awesome dialogue particularly the one from Safin and the bit from Bond and Q that cracked me up
    Bond: How strong is it?
    Q: It's... fairly strong
Bond: FAIRLY STRONG?!?!?! What does that mean?

Even in these short audio clips, I'm glad to hear Craig's Bond speaking in complete sentences instead of stoic one-liners and the word "no." Feels like a return to the character in CR.

Agreed. I get that Craig does “silent brooder” really well but he’s even BETTER if you give him a bit more personality and there seems to be so much more colour in his delivery and dialogue in this one. I think this very well could end up being his best performance as Bond, he seems to have the most range he’s had since Casino Royale.

I don't know, a lot of this stuff (like the Q exchange) feels like an extension to the slightly more playful character we got in Spectre. Especially bits like his reply to Nomi as we heard in the R2 thing today, or his "you live long enough..." reply to Blofeld in the trailer- I don't think that guy was around in CR, but he was in Spectre.

His characterization is Spectre struck me as the same brooding Bond in Skyfall worth a little more wit sprinkled in, but ultimately it felt really flat and a little forced in execution. His performance in NTTD feels a lot more natural and emotive.

Well, we haven't seen it yet, but I will admit that I was a little surprised by even just that couple of lines in the Nomi conversation- it did seem a bit more fully rounded than before. I like how Craig's Bond has grown increasingly at ease with himself. That aspect of the character has been a really slow burn and worked well, I think.

I think in this and the other audio clips released today (on that BBC podcast), you can feel Waller Bridge's input, it's the tone, the delivery of it all...very Brosnan-esque, and Craig clearly having fun

Paloma is a last minute addition to the script that Cary demanded and she’s clearly 100% PWB. I don’t know, everything seems quite tense in this film I hope that section with her won’t feel too detached, tonally, from the rest.

Is that Zimmer’s score featured in the BBC Podcast around 28:00 when Lashana is talking?
  • edited September 2021 Posts: 1,215
Yup, I think with Billie providing vocals on the track which is very Zimmer but pretty novel for Bond. There’s a decent bit of the score in the podcast.

I honestly think the tension & seriousness will come much later. I have a feeling the scenes with Paloma will be before Bond learns just how dire the situation is & how threatening Safin is to society. I don’t think we’ll have to worry about the Paloma scenes being too out of place, as it’ll occur prior to all the heavy stuff.
