Good try, pachazo, but it is not Verity.

If the majority thinks I should start making clues easier or to steer you a little in the right direction, I can do that; as Bond said in NSNA, "Hard or soft". But until I hear otherwise I'll stick with hard.

    Dr. No ?
Way to go @R1s1ngs0n, you've got it! You guessed correctly, Dr. No, the evil man with the aquarium where a person might say, What a view...to some krill! Explanations to the clues coming up.
@R1s1ngs0n, do you care to tell us how you figured it out? I'd been thinking of giving a clue saying it was a man, since there were so many guesses that it might be a woman.

    1) I know what Bond likes.
Has his butler serve Bond "A medium dry martini, lemon peel, shaken, not stirred."
    2) You'd almost think I was romantic!
In his lair he has a fire lit in the fireplace, a bearskin rug in front of the fire, another bearskin on the floor nearby, and lots of candles lit in the lair, including two candelabras on the dinner table.
    3) Bond and I share something in common.
A sense of fashion: he's dressed in a well-tailored, cream-colored Nehru suit with shoes of a matching color.
    4) I'm associated with some smart people.
Like the guard who Bond killed in the stream on the island. Quarrel says "That guy sure knew his business, trailing us after we let the others pass".
    5) I'm also associated with someone who has a sense of humor!
A guard who was in the "dragon tank" says "Sorry we ain't got any flowers" to try to get Bond and Honey to surrender.
    6) I'm well-informed.
He had his henchmen track Bond and try to kill him. He tells Bond that he knows "You've not contacted your headquarters since you requested a Geiger counter". And in the scene where Bond goes to Strangways' house, in the background on the road you can see the Three Blind Mice, keeping an eye on the place.
    7) I engage in some witty conversation with Bond.
About No's aquarium and its magnifying effect, Bond says, "Minnows pretending they're whales. Just like you on this island, Dr No". No replies, "It depends, Mr Bond, on which side of the glass you are".
    8) At least one person has a negative view of me and says so.
Honey says "I'm pretty sure he killed my father", when he went shell diving at Crab Key and didn't return.
    9) Normally I'm not this revealing!
No says "...the habit of enquiry is consistent. I see you're wondering why, where, when. I gratify your curiosity because you're the one man capable of appreciating what I've done and keeping it to himself".
    10) "Let's get ready to rumble!"
Dr. No in a fight to the death with James Bond in the control room.
    11) At least twice, I ask someone a question, and then I say or imply what should happen.
To Dent: "Why have you disobeyed my strictest rule and come in daylight?" Then, he tells him to go to the table, pick up the caged spider and says "Tonight". And in the control room he asks, "Have you got new fuel elements loaded?" then says "We will run up to half power for 30 seconds".
    12) Something distinct happens to Bond in this film that also happens to him in at least four other Bond films.
He gets knocked out. In this case, the coffee was drugged.
    13) I say (in so many words) that I'm confident in myself.
    He says "I never fail".
    14) Clue: something that is noticeably heard during the casino scene in Never Say Never Again.
When Bond and Largo are playing the Domination game, the computerized voice repeats, "Danger level". At the reactor station where a man is turning the control wheel, the film shows a sign above with big letter, reading Danger Level.
    15) I tell Bond something he doesn't know, and he basically admits that he didn't know.
...In the film, anyway, since it's the first. He tells Bond he's a member of SPECTRE, and Bond says back, "SPECTRE?"
    16) I don't want something to happen.
The launch of the Mercury rocket.
    18) I'm unhappy with at least two people, and I say so or imply it.
Again, he asks Dent why he disobeyed his strictest rule, asks why Bond has not been killed and says "You are not going to fail me again, professor". And No says "You disappoint me, Mr. Bond".
    19) I could've spoken a memorable line spoken by Ali Kerim Bey in From Russia With Love.
"I've had a particularly fascinating life. Would you like to hear about it?" No tells Bond about his childhood, growing up in China, a summary of his life.

R1s1ngs0n, congratulations again, and over to you.

    @Thrasos
To be honest, I didn’t expect Dr, No to be the right guess. I was actually much more confident about Pussy being the correct answer 😅
I based my guess mainly on clues 1,7,9 & 13.
The rest, with a few exceptions, started to fall into place even though with some, my explanation was different to yours.
For example #3 - the common thing being “the revenge department”
Or the two people Dr. No is displeased with being Dent and Bond disguised as Chang, the control room technician.
And the smart people obviously being the members of SPECTRE.
Thank you for a fun round. I am more than happy to let someone else take over for the next one.

I'm glad you got it! To tell the truth, I was feeling ready to wrap it up myself and move on, and I know a person could say that if they want. Thanks everyone for playing this round.

I tend to overlook the major characters sometimes. Does that happen to anyone else? Well done, both of you.

I don't deserve to be host for this round, since my last win was a loooong time ago...Anyway, I hope you don't mind when I keep this thread alive.

    EON character.

    1. My movements are restricted and controlled.
    2. My face is hidden behind a "censor bar".
    3. I'm not creepy, but maybe you think about something creepy when you see me.
    4. Bond is much better protected from the sun than I am.
    5. I want to walk to the place where Bond was coming from but I'm prevented from doing so.
    6. There is an establishing shot right before you see me. A similar looking establishing shot can be seen right after the main titles of a later Bond movie with the same Bond actor. There are also similar sounds in both establishing shots.
    7. Bond is looking down to me.
    8. I'm treated like a dog!
    9. IT is a very minor character we are looking for.

Just to clarify. We are not including characters or events introduced in NTTD, correct?

Definitely not. I'm one of the fans who doesn't watch any trailers before my NTTD premiere in the cinema.
