Also I have a question does IO have exclusive rights like activision and EA before it?

Funny, I actually think that that bald Craig mock-up still looks like Bond.

I hope (and expect) that we will get an original Bond model. As IO will likely do a series, I wouldn't mind having our own video game Bond separate from the film Bond and then get a decently prominent British actor to voice him.

A further dream would be to have one of the alumni become the video game Bond voice. Timothy Dalton perhaps?

That teaser is actually up there as one of my favourite gun barrels.

May also push Ubisoft to release a new and proper Splinter Cell game.

I just heard from @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, who's incredibly stoked over the announcement of this game. He said he recalled a few of us discussing the idea of IO doing a Bond title several years back and he's so happy it's finally come to fruition.

You just made a lot of balding bond fans happy with that comment.

Also where is @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 these days!?

I can't seem to link directly, but I did find this 47 with hair mock-up on Pinterest. It's more of a Bond haircut than the disguises that give him hair in the game.

As the talk at the moment is that it will be an origin story, I don't think they could go with Dalton. Maybe have one or more of the old actors do minor parts, maybe even a mentoring 00.

Although it would be absolutely hilarious to have a 74-year-old unironically voice a 20 or 30-something.

I would be fine with that being our bond... I wonder when are we going to get the first image of 007 my guess is may?

He's having himself a long hiatus, though he's not sure that he'll ever return.

@Risico007, indeed, he and I were quite strong in our desire to see IO handle a Bond game, couldn't be happier that it's finally happening.

You're probably right, but I mean, technically it's not a far cry from Sean Connery doing the voice in From Russia With Love (which did have some ironic hilarity seeing 30-something Bond with Connery's old voice).

hey dont count me out while i initially was more of an ubisoft man and a late bandwagon jumper I definitly was part of the IO group back in the day (weird to think 2013-217 was back in the day)

I really wished they'd done a game with Roger: he still sounded great and I think it could have been so much fun. Maybe he didn't want to, but I like to think he would have been game to play Bond again.

Had From Russia With Love been more successful then I feel like the possibility would have been explored. If so, I'm certain Roger would have done it. His voice in his later years had more depth to it but he still sounded close to his Bond years. Lazenby's voice still sounds very youthful. Reminds me of a later Cary Grant.

Yeah Lazenby did an audio drama recently where he was a Bond type again, I forget what it was though.

Roger Moore was originally going to voice Bond in Agent Under Fire, with John Cleese as Q. I don’t know why they didn’t get to come back.

I don't think they'll get a previous actor, I think they'll get an unknown actor whose done voice work in the past so that they can create their own version of the character.

I'd only heard of IOI through Hitman (but wouldn't have been able to tell you who developed the series). My number one choice would have been Rockstar, but from what I'm hearing about Hitman and IOI, it sounds like Bond is a brilliant match for them. Excited to see what comes!

Will do. As you said, it would be great if there was some gambling segments in the game. That's why I would have liked Rockstar, I feel GTA would have been a brilliant template for a Bond game; pop into a casino and do some gambling when you please. Get cool cars and drive them how you like, complete with gadgets.

I strongly recommend Hitman: Blood Money, Hitman '16 and Hitman 2

Let's also hope they throw in some driving segments as well as Hitman doesn't have those elements, and I'm not sure if IO Interactive even has any games that involve driving.

Not a huge gaming fan myself, but just watched the teaser and stopped by here to say how much I like this new gunbarrel. It feels about 1000% times fresher than most of the recent film gunbarrels - modern but still has that unmistakable Binder look. The gaming world has always been ahead of the film world in terms of innovation.

Agreed. As I’ve mentioned before, the weight of the cartridge being inserted is powerful.

Someone on the Hitman forums pointed out that they are looking forward to the inevitable Easter eggs. IO is big on fun and tongue-in-cheek Easter eggs. One suggestion was to have some of 47's gadgets hanging around Q's lab (rubber duck, electrocution phone, etc...).

I am still beaming with this news. Hitman is my favourite video game franchise.

I think an open world Bond, in theory, would be an interesting experience. However, I feel like the Rockstar blueprint wouldn't quite work for Bond as a whole. I can't imagine the whole Bond story taking place in one massive location. I suppose they could break it into smaller locations to allow for a bit of globetrotting, but that's why I think Hitman's open-ended environments and mission structure will allow for a more cohesive Bond story.
  • Okay, I had long lost interest in participating in the forum because of NTTD not being released any time soon, but this peaked my interest again. Fantastic news! They fact they will have the whole playground to come up with their story is intriguing and exciting.

I, too, would love some sort of open exploration to go around MI6 talking to staff and random people, and maybe take on "side-missions" that aren't necessary to complete the story but are fun to do on their own. :D

With EON involved, I cannot imagine this not coming out in 2022 for the 60'th. IO are pretty fast at development based on their turnaround times with the Hitman series. Add to the fact Hitman 3 seemingly has no post launch content like Hitman 2 did as they have no season pass so they will likely be all hands on deck for Bond once Hitman 3 releases in January.

I imagine the first we will get a glimpse is E3 next summer.
