Sorry Barry, but those don't look like film crew trucks. Maybe they were fibbing.

    Bugger,really ?!

    Lying shits.
I wonder what it is then, its got security and everything. :-?

For filming they usually close the road and these can be found on a TFL website.
    This one;
    https://tfl.gov.uk/traffic/status/?startDate=2019-09-14T00:00:00&endDate=2019-09-15T23:59:59&dateTypeSelect=This weekend&disruptionIds=TIMS-214108

There are no road closures for your road or connecting roads for this weekend so it is unlikely it is filming for anything.

Here in Matera I'm watching the gravestone set. I have just seen the scene that follows the
explosion. Bond falls to the ground, collecting dirt and cuts to the face. On the ground he slowly gets up and probably gets a phone call because he begins speaking on the phone. After a few seconds of chatting, he starts running.

    Guess it makes sense now:
Bond visits Vespers grave which is wired to an exploding device that sends a signal to the attackers (SPECTRE out for revenge) that Bond is there (who else would visit her grave?). He gets a phonecall (from MI6?) that they are closing in, and off he goes running to get to Swann who is waiting in the car or at the hotel.
  • Why is Vesper in a cemetery in Matera?? She died in Venice that is about 8 hours away from Matera. And Vesper didn't look like a Italian woman.

Yes or could be a phonecall from the villain for the first time (hinting that they'd kill him or his gf) or even Madelline on the phone if she's in the car and hears the expoison. She wasn't on set but could have been waiting in the car for him to have his moment at the gravestone.

Bond is on the phone then pauses, looks into the distance before running. Perhaps villains are heading that way already.

It apparently is a British cemetery in Italy. Geographical distances have never been 100% accurate with Bond film though. The scene directly before the opening tunnel shot in Matera will be coastal roads many miles away 😉
Blessed be he day that Slyfox will poist his photos :)

It'll be Christmas come early when i do. 😉 I got some video footage of today's post explosion scene. The big explosion they only filmed once. The post scene they just used some smoke each time to act like it had just happened.

There was a clapper board in one video. I'll see if I can see the number on it but I think it will be too far away to identify...

As someone who is admittedly sick and tired of the DB5, the only way they were going to change my mind was by going completely balls out like this. How can I not be in?

    Anyone posted these videos yet?

This looks like the scene in Heat, where the crew fool the cops. You know, where De Niro in the end shoots fotos of the cops from the top of a silo ;-)?

Second video, time code 1:07. Cool close-up on the driving stuntguy on top AM plus the race car with cameras.

Two things: 1. The location of Vesper's grave. Do we already know the reason Vesper was buried in Southern Italy? If not, I hope they will give as at least a superficial explanation.

    2. Bond's outfit in Matera. No matter how you spin it, it looks far less Bondian than Craig's outfits in the previous films. There has to be a reason why Bond is not dressed like Bond in these scenes, similar to how there was a reason for Bond's gangster outfit when he arrived in Rome in Spectre. Right? Or do you disagree?

I mean look at what some members wrote back in August when we still didn't know whether the guy in that outfit was Bond or not:

@Bounine wrote on August 22: "If this is supposed to be Bond, then they’ve messed this up. Bond doesn’t wear ties like this."

To which @Univex replied: "Of course it isn't. And of course they didn't."

This is so cool that it almost physically hurts

And the beautiful work on this. Just stunning. Wonder if they gonna shoot Bond/Swann out on the balcony, and how? Crane? Drone?

He looks like Bond to me. And certainly better than most chumps these days who (Sorry, Cary) think the no socks, short slacks look is anything other than abhorrent.

Exactly. I don't know how anyone was thinking that wasn't supposed to be Bond. Who else were they expecting to have blondish hair while wearing a suit would be jumping off a bridge or driving an Aston.

    Smoke ejector. Can't wait.
  • I see no problem with Bond's outfit either. He looks like Sir Roger in TSWLM.

I see two possibilities: either this outfit is a disguise, or Suttirat Anne Larlarb chose this outfit to highlight that Bond has lost his mojo (which he will regain later in the movie). I mean compare this outfit to the one he wears when he exits the V8 Vantage in London! That outfit screams Bond.

    COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU!!

It doesn't makes sense to me that Vesper's grave is in Matera if she died in Venice and she was not Italian.

About Bond's outfit, it is true that he didn't dress like that. Bond has NEVER worn shirts with buttons on the collar and that kind of tie.

    ;)

I would class that Cemetery explosion spoiler as a major one than a minor one. A little frustrating to be honest.
  • Dali Bensallah has touched down in Matera......(according to his Instagram):

This pretty much confirms speculations that he is one of the people chasing Bond on the bike. Remember that stunt-man and how he was dressed?

The one big question I wanted answered was whether or not Bond would be wearing the same clothes at the cemetery as in the chase scene. I wondered if the cemetery was doubling as another location (maybe Greece or another part of Italy) and that visiting the grave was not connected to the Matera scenes. CASE CLOSED there.
