    A new Jurassic World movie is now officially in development.

    Per THR, it's been reported that a fourth Jurassic World film is in the works, and it may excite longtime fans of the franchise to know that David Koepp is penning the script. Koepp co-wrote the original Jurassic Park movie with original author Michael Crichton before going on to serve as the screenwriter for the first sequel, The Lost World. The writer is also known for writing the script for Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, as well as working on the screenplays for other films like War of the Worlds, Angels & Demons, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull along with its more recent sequel, The Dial of Destiny.

    According to the new report, David Koepp's Jurassic World 4 script has secretly been in the works for long enough to be in a "well-liked shape." There is even word that Universal Pictures may gear up to start filming in the near future, putting the film in line for a potential 2025 release. With that noted, there are no directors yet attached to the project, though Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley are set to return as producers. Steven Spielberg is also back on board to executive produce.

    Plot details haven't been revealed about the new movie just yet. The project is reportedly planned to be the start of a "new Jurassic era" with an all-new storyline, which may suggest that it won't be a direct continuation from Jurassic World Dominion. There's no word yet on whether franchise stars from the original Jurassic Park trilogy, along with new stars from the Jurassic World films, will be returning.

    Doubt 2025 release date. I think earlier that there whant to to start filming in 2025 for possible 2027 release, just on time for 30th anniversary of Jurassic Park 2. That's 5 years after Jurassic World 3 (2022).

    I kind of hope that Colin Trevorrow doesn’t direct (or co-write) again. It’s time for a fresh voice for the series. Same with Chris Pratt leading, he’s proving how overexposed he is for movie franchises.

    It was funny how everyone thought Pratt was the new Harrison Ford when he did Guardians, then he did Jurassic and everyone realised... 'oh no, he's quite boring isn't he'!

    The new Jurassic World film will be a reboot, which is currently eyeing David Leitch to direct and has been given a release date of July 2nd, 2025:

    I struggle to see what a reboot could do in comparison with the first Jurassic World, which pretty much did everything a reboot would do but wrapped it in a sequel bow.

    I agree and am a big fan of the first Jurassic World; but the cash cow must be milked.

    With that said, I'll probably give it a chance; I loved dinosaurs when I was 6 and I still love them at 60.

    Funny that I saw this one popping up, since I just saw Jurassic Park III. Now I'm not a connaisseur of this series. But I really liked it. I'd even say it's the one I enjoy the most, although the original is superb as well of course.

    I like JPIII though it always feels like there is an act missing, it's a short film in comparison to the rest of the series.

    Meh. Like I said before, I just hope it’s not Colin Trevorrow. Less of a workmanlike/check box director, and someone fresh. And push the release date back, for more time than barely a year.

    Mabey there should ask Drew Goddard who direct Bad Times at the El Royale who is also composed by Michael Giacchino who did Jurassic World movies. If also another composer mabey John Ottman.

    No more Jurassic films thanks. They've milked that franchise dry. Spielbergs films are the best by a country mile.

    Oh, I'm quite the opposite. I love all the films and am thrilled to be getting more!

    If anything, I probably prefer the World trilogy to the Park trilogy. The satirical edge is brilliantly done and is a nice way to keep them interesting.

    I am not a big fan of JW. In fact, JP is the only one that really holds my interest. TLW comes second, no matter how heavily criticized it is. I especially don't like the choices made in the recent two flicks.

    JW mirrors the sequel Star Wars trilogy for me, in that it started on the right foot but unfortunately got worse with each film.

    I never know just what people are looking for in Jurassic Park sequels. I'm generally looking for a series of very well-crafted action setpieces involving dinosaurs, and I feel all six of these movies delivers those in spades....

    The first movie is obviously iconic in terms of the CGI advances demonstrated in it, and the whole film stands up today, but I don't know what story or character people are holding so close to their hearts. Is it Grant learning to sort of like kids? Or Hammond realizing maybe his park was a bad idea? The story is a thin setup for some monster movie thrills, and it's great on that level.

    But I also feel like most of the characters know they're in a monster movie, and that once the power is out, it's all over. Jurassic Park isn't really a park or resort, it's an obvious death trap. After all, it only really has one thing to do and does not appear to offer any sort of lodging. The book (and Jurassic World) depicted a more plausible tourist attraction.

    I also think Colin's two movies better illustrate the chaos theme. In JP, you can't help but feel that if the fat guy hadn't turned off the fences, it all could have worked. The book goes to some lengths to argue that it could never have worked, and both JW and JW:D have a fairly unpredictable, chaotic, sequence of events that leads to ultimate disaster--I think those two movies, despite their satirical tone (which was a good idea!), are more in line with Crichton's book than the original was.

    That's pretty much not true, none of the films have, nor will ever show a herd of Compsognathus eating a baby alive, nor a Dilophosaurus ripping a person's intestines out after leaving them blind.
    Novel JP is much darker and gorier than movie JP.

    Well, yeah, they didn't make gory films, but for an adult reader, darkness and goriness are not really the central themes of that book either.

    I agree. It was fun they made 3 more films but they milked this series for all its worth. Let the memories stand
