The name's 25. Bond 25, or rather, it's NTTD.

COLONEL SUN. (It would be the greatest Bond movie title since Dr. No...)

    If Bond does indeed
walk away at the end of 24, then LICENCE RENEWED may be more apt?

As much as I would love to see The Hildebrand Rarity, Property of a Lady or Risico announced some day, now that I think about it, for some reason, seeing the title COLONEL SUN unveiled would probably get my blood pumping more than any other. Maybe with the possible exception of Shatterhand.

"Licence Being thrown in the river because you ****** it up again" :-P. Or "Drivers Licence Revoked"? Sorry, that title I find a bit...unoriginal and lame ;-). Although I love the font art!

My problem with this is, the story would have to be about 007's licence being revoked. Which has already happened in and is the meaning of the film Licence to Kill. I think M also repremanded him in QOS "You're removed from duty and suspended" so we really don't need a third film with M again stripping him of his licence to carry out his job.

  • Since SKYFALL and SPECTRE are both one-word titles that start with S, perhaps SHATTERHAND really is an apt title, especially if Mendes returns to direct. It would give his "trilogy" a bit of verbal consistency.

I would like SHATTERHAND, a trilogy of one-word titles and it would tie-in with SPECTRE. Can't believe that Shatterhand hasn't been used as a villains name or film title yet, it just seems so obvious.

Both have seven letters as well. So maybe lose the hand?

If Shatterhand is announced as the title of Bond 25, I'll need plastic surgery to remove the smile from my face

I was reading Live and Let Die a couple of days ago, and I also thought The Silver Phantom would be quite nice a title.

Can we change this to the "25" title thread now, so we can keep all the previous submissions?

  • I'm hoping Bond 24 will have a title that is very specific to the story like Dr. No, Goldfinger, GoldenEye or Skyfall. I generally dislike titles that are not completely connected to the story like Diamonds Are Forever, For Your Eyes Only, A View to a Kill or the 3 terrible titles between GoldenEye and Casino Royale.

Please Mr. John Logan, give us a title
    1. that isn't too long (No more than 3 words!)
    2. describes something very specific in the story (The Bond girl, the villain, a place etc.)
    3. and that is bold and memorable
    Thank you :bz

By the way my 5 favourite Bond titles so far:
    1. Casino Royale
    2. Dr. No
    3. From Russia with Love
    4. GoldenEye
    5. Skyfall

Well it seems you got your wish!

Changed title and moved to Bond 25 and beyond as requested.

Okay, for Bond 25... How about: A Glimpse of Eternity?
  • Getting a little deeper than the film but a title I came up oth for DAD that had its links in the Moon relationship between father and son which I thought I'd share is The Man with a Child in his Eyes.

For what it's worth it would be nice if bond 25 used one of the remaining Fleming titles but I doubt theyd ever use the too romantic sounding Property of a Lady. Shatterhand would be great but three S titles in a row wouldn't donit for me. Risico is my top choice but they got enough flack for using the mouthful that was Quantum of Solace because it's too hard for dullards to say or understand.

14 year old me would've come up with something like From Beyond the Call of Danger or the even worse A Chance to Die Forever (another DAD title based on Moon dying and becoming Graves). My friend always joked he'd call his bond In More Ways Than One which has grown on me over the years.

If Roger Moore had a chance to make another bond in Harlem film instead of 007 in New York the called of called it The Big Apple Bites Back!

Still Bond 25 what to call you?

    The Garden of Death

Beyond the Ice (joking I'm not a red top paper in search of an article)

    I give up.

The only issue was I was planing on changing the title thread each time a new title rumor was announced but C'est la vie

And in the past, when Craig has thrown off such statements (about the return of SPECTRE, Q, Moneypenny, the humor, his choice of director, etc.), it has usually come to pass.
True, but he didn't come up with talking about titles out of the blue, the interview asked his opinion on the remaining titles.

It struck me that some of the lyrics from A View To A Kill would make for a cool sounding Bond title:

    DANCE INTO THE FIRE

My all time favourite choice for a future Bond title is

    SHAKEN NOT STIRRED

Personally I think Nobody Does It Better would have made an awesome alternative title to TSWLM (not that I dislike Fleming's title)

'Nobody Does It Better' is an ironic p***-taking Roger Moore era title. It's a great Rog title song and suits him perfectly, but it would be a step too far for a film title.
