In all seriousness, I hope all my fellow Yanks have a great time with the rest of the day's festivities. Words couldn't express my appreciate for the countless people that signed the declaration 236 years ago and literally risked their heads. We need men willing to make that sacrifice at the present time. I hope everyone American and British stays safe tonight, and enjoys their time with family and friends on both sides of the pond, because let's face it: it took both of us to make this happen. :)

Couldn't have said it better. It's insane what happened those 236 years ago, and today, we have people who not only feel like the world is going to end because their power is out - something they dealt with those 236 years ago - but we have people walking out and about who don't know the first thing about America.

Who is the Vice President? A good bit of people are clueless.

Yes, and to quote Biden himself, "this is a big f@#$ing deal".

I love how loose and free Biden is in that clip, haha.

While I'm sure it was a mistake, I always like seeing presidents unwind, like Obama's comment on Kanye West, or his fly-killing incident during an interview.

I love Obama's disapproving face when Biden cusses. It just says to me "oh, we're going to have a talk later"... :))

@Baltimore_007, Happy Fourth! You definitely sound like me when I've had way too many drinks. I enjoyed zero alcohol tonight, thanks to storms and my town's idea that fireworks are best done on a day that isn't the Fourth of July, for some reason. No matter, I'll ring in a belated Fourth of July tomorrow with my friend, Smirnoff.

Thanks for the music, Talos7. :) Ray is special. And that is not an easy song to sing, either (although The Star Spangled Banner tops that list).

Was I really here last night, I don't even remember ?

Don't know what others did, but hope everybody enjoyed themselves, we had as much fun as the Spanish soccer players the other week

New York knows how to put on a party, and these were the celebrations underway from one such event, it was one of the biggest the country has ever seen, I would of been a little intoxicated to take much in, apart from sounds though..

@Baltimore_007, you were indeed here - quite interesting post you had that @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 just quoted - and you were a touch refreshed.

Fckn hell, did I really do that :\">

I must have had a lot to drink, just a spontaneous moment of emotion in my defense. Who the hell is Ireland ?

Think I'll say goodnight (again) :-S

    Sorry about all that

@Baltimore_007, I don't know if you were speaking of a member or Ireland in general, but boy was that post funny. I don't know why you put all the "I am"s, and you said goodnight and today was a good day 3 or 4 times, but it was entertaining. =))

Everything I know about America these days comes from The Daily Show.
I have to assume it offers a terribly slanted viewpoint on the mainstream media. Otherwise I'd have to question our decision to withdraw the redcoats and give them independence all those years ago.

@Baltimore_007, I get quite emotional when I drink, too, no worries. But that post was most certainly enjoyable. It's why I steer clear of any electronics if I have even a slight drink, as I am a light weight.

the media in this country is so ridiculous it isn't even funny... thank god for shows like The Daily Show...

when Fox News (a very conservative slanted network) starts questioning a Muppet movie, for preaching liberal propaganda to young kids, you know you're in trouble... you either get ultra-conservative reporting, or ultra-liberal - and it's like you're forced to be one or the other in this country.... if you're liberal, you're labeled a Socialist or Communist.. and if you're conservative, you're labeled a Racist - that's what it essentially boils down... and because of this, there is a whole generation of young Americans, who just don't give a (blank) about politics, and honestly, i can't blame them... because neither do i anymore... I just worry about me, and my family and friends, thats it...

i wish i could've grown up in a time when America stood for something... instead of war, occupation and hypocrisy.... and the sad reality is, it's only going to get worse :(
