    Ian Fleming created the character and that's good enough. You can't expect a series to survive 50 years by remaining 100% loyal to his work.

    Note: Don't get me wrong I still loved him in this film, it's just that he was still a little too young in it and that made him just a bitt less believable since he didn't have the right built (physically) to be Bond.

    It's still a great debut performance and there were many moments when he was BOND but he definitely got better as the films advanced

    I liked twine as a kid. Now I think it's the worst Brosnan entry and might even be bottom ranked overall. On my recent viewing I didn't find much to like about it, apart from the pts and its accompanying soundtrack

    At least in DAD Brosnan has a convincing and confident performance

    I think TWINE at least tries something different. Unfortunately like much of Brosnan's entries - it doesn't commit to it. This could well be the nagging memory of LTK's reception being large in the mind of the producers. It's the most tonally messy of the Brosnan era - but then again you look at DAD's M/007 debrief scene when he's all weirdy beardy and that scene belongs nowhere near the rest of that movie. I think in DAD they just extinguish the more intriguing character elements a lot quicker than they do in TWINE.

    While TWINE has elements that grate (Christmas Jones, Cleese's performance) and a lack of memorable action set pieces I find the characters - particularly the villains more engaging. In TND and DAD I don't think I'm ever invested in any of the character's journeys. I wish TWINE was so much more...but not being the biggest Brosnan fan - I do prefer it to TND and DAD.
