I hope you're right. Would love to see him return.

You can pretty much take it to the bank that will happen based on that interview, if he knows already when to keep his schedule open as he more or less says, then it has to be for this film, otherwise EON wouldn't have gone to the trouble of notifying him.

At 7:00 Wright starts to talk about Bond and how he's hearing rumours that Leiter might be creeping back in B24.

I cincerly hope that's the case!

It seems that Leiter usually popped up in films where the threat is directed at America. Exception being AVTAK.
I like the character and liked Jeffrey Lynn's take on him.

You mean Jeffrey Wright, right? And have you been watching him in Boardwalk Empire ? He's awesome playing the ruthless criminal in sheep's clothing.

    Jeffrey Lynn as Felix Leiter

Yes, it would be great to have Wright back. I like the tradition of the "Leiter surprise", best characterized in Dr. No introduction of the character, but also set-up quite well in the DAF novel.

I hope the writers can find a clever way to introduce Leiter into the B24 story, where he is at first seemingly a threat.

I'd enjoy seeing Leiter in a bigger role, work with Bond a little bit. He was severely underused in QoS.

I think that's coming, or I hope it is. If anyone is out in the field with Bond it should be Felix Leiter.

Based off of the reviews and how they handle Leiter, I'll honestly be surprised if he doesn't return in B24.

Sorry guys. Jeffrey Lynn was the lead singer for ELO back in the seventies and a member of the Traveling Woodburys. My bad.

    And you know this how...?
He was asked about it on some American radio show i believe?
It's funny. His Leiter is about as wrong as Flemingly possible. Chris Tuckers, william.i.am, or bust.

Seconded, we know that their is a draft circulating amongst the top brass at Eon. So yeah with that interview also i think that dear old Felix will be returning. Would love to see him and Bond finally take out Quantum as they have both obviously had more than one encounter with them in the past. One can only help as i think Wright could easily handle whatever action scenes they could throw at him? [-O<

I really hope Wright will come back in Bond 24. he was great in CR and QOS.
  • I liked Wright but he hasn't blown me away. I'd like him back for continuity's sake but if they hired a new actor I wouldn't be that bothered.

Dean Norris would be a fantastic Felix.

Will he make Bond try his Schrader-brau (beer) ? ;)

Yep, right after he shows him his rock mineral collection ;)

I really dont care anymore about Felix. I wish Felix appeared in Goldeneye so we can see how he was doing after the Shark Attack in License to Kill and how he was dealing with that after math

I have to applaud you for this suggestion! while I was addicted to watching Breaking Bad, not once did I say to myself 'the actor who plays Hank should be Felix'.. but now that I read your comment, I am astounded I didn't picture him as Felix while watching the show!

Jeffrey Wright has made the character his own after CR and QoS. I hope he sticks with it. And I hope Feinnes and Naomie reprises their roles of M and Moneypenny respectively.
  • He's too much of a peripheral character in most of the movies that its not that important to me whether he's a part of future movies or not. Maybe if he does come back, he's given more meaningful air time and his character can be more fleshed out.

More than anything I just want Bond to seem like he's actually mates with Felix. Pretty much every time Felix has been in the films he's just run into Bond on a mission. I'd like it if the films showed that they were actually friends rather than just colleagues that occasionally work together.

The only exception to this is LTK and that's why I think it has the best Felix we've seen in the films. It's not that Hedison was brilliant in the role because he was fairly average but the story actually shows that Bond and Felix are friends.
  • I'm hoping for a return of Felix in Bond 24. I think Jeffery Wright is the best Felix so far even better than Jack Lord's portrayal in Dr. No. It'll be interesting to see if he has more power now that he has replaced Gregg Beam as CIA Section Chief as mentioned at the end of QOS.

  • Lord, Hedison, and Wright are the holy trinity of Leiters. The rest of this bunch sucked, especially that stiff in the blue jacket on the bottom.

Just what the hell are you trying to do, SirHenry? Start World War III?

I don't think Rik Van Nutter sucked. He was a bit generic, but nowhere near as bad as Linder, Burton, or Terry. For that matter, I have a bit of a soft spot for Linder, since Goldfinger got me back into the franchise. Still not a good Felix by any objective measure.

How smart could Linder and Van Nutter be? These two stick out like a lesbian's tongue, one in Miami, one in Nassau, suit and ties on the hot beach. All they needed was a sign saying "CIA crew chief" on their backs to complete their brilliant disguises! I was 7, 8 years old when I saw these in 1968 and 1970 and it was so obvious even then.

Van Nutter might have been even dumber, greeting Bond by his code name while in a hotel hallway. I know, I know, it's the script 8-|
