Well I have access to photobucket, and it still doesn't work. Really, I have a heavy heart here, I just wish I could post pictures without joining Imager. Yet another hoop to jump through.

Apparently photobucket doesn't let you share images with users who don't also have an account. Just google the covers you want from a sales site or wikipedia and copy the image address here.

The link brings up lots of images of the Berkley/Charter paperbacks. Are these what you were trying to post?

If these were what you had in mind, I am in complete agreement with you. Perhaps it's because they're the first Flemings I bought, but these covers are my favorites. An eye-catching, elegant design that's consistent throughout the series, and the art honors Fleming's idea of Bond as "the man who was only a silhouette." My only regret is that the rights to OHMSS, YOLT, TMWTGG, and OP weren't available, but we can tell what they would have looked like from Charter's editions of the first few Gardner Bonds:

I started collected them in my first year at uni, these were the newest covers then and I still love them:

My favorites in these were The Man With The Golden Gun, Dr. No and Moonraker.

I also liked Octopussy a bit (that girl holding a gun is cool).

Definitely some of my favorites I’ve seen! Mine are these minimalist-styled ones:

My favourite covers are the Coronet ones from the 90's. They're so uniform, but still very eye-catching on their own. I think it must also be the biggest set yet, as it included Amis, some of Gardners and some of Bensons, which is pretty cool!

You can see all of them here:

Those are pretty extraordinary, the ‘007’ touch on the one for TMWTGG is a very nice detail.

Just because you have access to Photobucket doesn't mean it should by rights work here, though. It's definitely a Photobucket issue rather than an MI6 one. Sorry @chrisisall - it is what it is, sometimes.

I've noticed a few image hosting sites actually have the same issue when people are trying to embed in other places. Maybe we could build a list of the ones that definitely work on this site for people to be aware.

As long as we're sharing book covers, I really like these:

    https://nerdreactor.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/book-covers-09.jpg

I even have a "Quantum of Solace" book (collecting ALL the Fleming short stories) with a Fahey cover issued (I suppose) as an addendum to this series. Perhaps when the movie was out.

And I seem to have the same problem as @chrisisall. Oh well, you can click the link if you'd like, I'm not going to get all bothered about it...

Re-releases of some of Fleming novels by Harper Collins that being released in October 2022 or get release on 22 March 2023 look like very much inspyred by more present style of Jack Reacher novels. With Diamonds Are Forever you see picture of Man in Las Vegas whyle Casino Royale have picture from Monaco (I must think about Goldeneye 1995 movie). The money there ask is simalar to color ones that release earlier.

    Released in October 2022

This brings back memories, @Revelator. I always liked these covers. The Bond model reminds me of Brosnan. Some of my fondest memories of the Gardner novels were these covers.

Great covers; would've loved a full set of these.

@chrisisall I use my Facebook account to post photos to this forum. First upload the photo to a private album, then use that link to post here. A pretty clumsy solution, but for me, it's what works.

If memory serves, it's a geyser that goes off in YOLT, not a volcano. Bond turns the wheel of the geyser's regulating valve, which causes Blofeld's castle to collapse in flames. An accurate cover would show Bond hanging on to a helium balloon while in the background the castle goes down in fire and rubble.

Fair enough! The volcano explosion occurred to me to be novel accurate; I'll have to revisit the book and get my facts straight!

Let me give it a try...

I also have this series and the QoS variant, which indeed came out around the time of the movie.

This Penguin series was very important because it marked the first time the original texts of the novels were published in the US. That was 20 years ago and represented real progress (unlike today...).

Thanks, @Revelator. Yep, that's them all right. I just love the look of these! (And I had no idea that they were "original texts" either! All the more reason to love 'em!)

Yes! I have all of those. I love those covers. I have the Lazenby cover and a really old one for OHMSS (the only novel I own two of).

You're right! A very 70s cover, but also faithful to the book in its inclusion of Tiffany as Bond first sees her and Spang in his western cosplay. In general, I think book covers tend to suffer when they show Bond's face, since readers either picture one of movie actors as Book Bond or have no set image at all (this has been my case). That said, I like the striking design on your copy of LALD.

Great cover art. That copy of LALD I have is pretty hammered. :(

I also had a few of these editions.........

With respect to the B/C paperbacks, what is the basis for referring to Bond as a Master Spy?
There's a thread called 'which editions of the Fleming novels do you own?' which would really benefit from these picture posts.

I wouldn't refer to him that way either, but for a book cover it isn't a stretch to see why they'd refer to him that way.

I don't think there's any evidence to suggest digital media already purchased will be amended in any way.

The reason I ask is- I've seen plenty of titles I own, like, Grishams; I open it up to the main listing and it says [update available.]. I always assume it's for a typo, like that. And this would, uh, sure qualify as an "update."
