@soundofthesinners i started with die another day, and everything just seemed to fit (especially considering that the movie itself was an absolute train wreck) I toyed around with the idea of changing the skulls (two in profile-janus-for goldeneye, one with a bullet hole in it for the world is not enough, diamonds across one side for die another day) but i couldn't think of a good variation for tomorrow never dies. I have a tradition in this series of using a very rigid scheme for each leading actor.

also, i thought it interesting that Brosnan, unlike other pre-Craig Bonds, never lets the villain live. Craig and Dalton get a ton of ink for being "dark" but Brosnan killed off the villains in very cold, very gruesome, very spectacular deaths.

There's definitely a theme for the other Bonds, but I think those allow for more variation. Either way, the differentiations were well-done. And regarding Brosnan's treatment of the villains, I can't think of any time previous Bonds let the villain live. Blofeld escaped, but Bond tried his hardest to kill him every time, and Dalton didn't kill Koskov, but he did kill Whitaker, and Koskov looks to be getting executed after the end of the movie.
  • @sountofthesinners. Not really a "letting them live" thing. More a "Bond gets his hands dirty" thing. Take From Russia With Love vs. The World Is Not Enough. Bond kills out-duels Grant, but Daniella Bianchi kills Rosa Klebb. In TWINE, Bond shoots Elektra King point blank after what I consider to be the series' best one-liner ("I never miss") and shoots a nuclear fuel rod through Renard. Brosnan kills Elliot Carver by pushing him into an underwater sea drill; Moore leaves Nick Nack in a suitcase on the mast of a ship. Brosnan drops a satellite dish on 006; Dalton let Georgi, once a prized defector, into KGB custody without a word of objection. (LTK was pretty merciless, though.) Perhaps Brosnan played the character soft enough that the climactic interactions with villains required a more overt hard-edge. Sorry to get so far off-topic.

@risico007. Deaths in OHMSS just make me sad.
  • Bonus because I had some extra elements laying about and apparently I'm not ready to be done with this project.

What if Cubby and Harry had taken up Charles Feldman's offer to produce Casino Royale?
I have used the cast of the resulting spoof version and the crew of You Only Live Twice.
The two diamonds in the bottom right are meant to represent 007, but I think that failed slightly...
  • @galasilva. love it, especially severine. not that i'm a freak for minute and inconsequential details or anything, but I think eve used a different rifle for the train scene if that's what you were going for.

It was what I was going for and I know it's the same but I didn't think I'd be able to find a good enough picture of the model for what I was looking for.

This would have been a great concept for Diamonds Are Forever.

I think if Sean was 30 again at this present time and he played Bond in a properly gritty Casino Royale, he'd do fantastic.

Photoshop or Gimp are the common editing programs.

Ever since Alfred Tennyson's poem "Ulysses" was referenced and recited to great emotional effect in Skyfall, I have been in love with it. Tennyson's words are a timeless reminder of endurance through time and trials, which perfectly represents the James Bond franchise itself, which has survived over 50 years on the big screen through both ups and downs. I wanted to pay tribute to both the series and Tennyson himself with the last lines of "Ulysses" which are used in Skyfall, accompanied by pictures from the Bond films themselves that I feel best represent the poem's words. This is the biggest graphic art project I have undertaken, but one I am satisfied to see finished. I have only linked to the poster because it is a massive 2000 x 7688 pixels:

    Great, 0Brady!!

Really emotional and impressive. Reminds me the brilliant 50th Anniversary video called SKYFALL: 50 Years of Bond. Magnificent!
