Is Malek even in the movie? :)) Seriously, how many days did he spend filming NTTD?

He's in Venice this weekend as we speak. Annunal Film Festival 28/8-7/9 with loads of big actor names, directors, producers attending, and then he's problably off to Matera

    Full title:
    LIDO DI VENEZIA, 28.08 - 7.09 2019
    BIENNALE CINEMA 2019
    76TH VENICE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

A lot can be done with proper lighting and in post. As long as the streets are not too wet.

Like putting a heavy yellow filter throughout a whole sequence? :D

That would be easy. A bit more difficult to make that sequence look like one continuous shot.

Give the job to the Arctic Monkeys now.

Yes, yes, yes. It’s the only option in my opinion. It would be fantastic.

Yep. Best of both worlds. They're massive commercially (getting tickets to their last tour was a bloody nightmare) so would still get the publicity that Adele and Smith got, but they also have an edge to them that those two don't have.

Also, and this is the important part, they're just really good aren't they. There's a reason they're still selling out arenas while most of the English indie guitar bands that started around the same time as them have died out or are a shadow of their former popularity. It's because they're constantly growing and evolving, which is praise that I can't give to even some of my favourite bands. Alex Turner is a genius, he already nailed the Bond sound with Last Shadow Puppets and I bet Craig would love them to do it. Give them the job already.

Damn right. Like you say, it’s perfect as they have the commercial clout we well as being a perfect choice musically. They’re also coming off the back of Tranquility Base, with no new album due for a while, so the timing is perfect.

They'd be a really smart choice at this point. They're cracking live as well.

The Last Shadow Puppets or maybe Muse would get my vote.
Never heard the Lana Del Rey song before. Gutted it was never used for Spectre.

    HAHAHA.

Complaining about how hot is in Italy! It’s only in the 80s.

In Texas the heat index is 114...

To be fair it's not heat itself but humidity that makes it unbearable.
  • Meanwhile.....Mr Malek is in Venice currently. I suspect he is in Italy either for the day and then back in London for work on NTTD. Either that or the Matera conference is happening next week as has been rumoured.

An average summer day here is 95-100 with the humidity between 50% - 85%...

Definitely much worse here. I guess if you’re not used to it then it’s bad in Matera.

    70-80 with high humidity
    95-100 high humidity.

    Both bad but..

A small band trying to capitalize on the NTTD hype or perhaps one of their songs will be used as source music? Most odd.

    The music sounds good.
  • I find it interesting there isn't more buzz around Malek in NTTD.

I think it's cause we know literally nothing about his character. I think once we get a first look at him in the film, then there'll be more buzz :)

I think it's won-der-ful. Truly magnificent that we, Bond-fans, know nothing about it, That's marvellous! We have to cherish that :-). There's this wonderful mystery about his character. And if another weird North-Korean hacker initiates a 'UniversalLeak' about the script, I'm willing to become an assassin and kill the damn bastard for that :-P.

Haha I agree, it's a breathe of fresh air after basically going to see Spectre knowing pretty much everything about it :D

And they’ll be receiving a strongly worded email from EON right about now.

    Shooting location today

    02-Settembre_page-0001.jpg

    VIA FIORENTINI – VIA LOMBARDI
Traffic closures from 6.00 am to 8.00 pm:
from ZTL Via D’Addozio intersecting Via Sant’Antonio Abate / Via Madonna delle Virtù

    incl fake shrine set

Building a ramp, next to the fake shrine set, for bike jump stunt

"The production is setting up the open-air set for the shooting scheduled for Monday 2nd September between Fiorentini and via Lombardi, where a votive shrine has already been built, as can be seen from the photo gallery below. In the neighborhood of via Lombardi we work to build a platform on which a motorbike will have to pass for another reckless jump in James Bond style. Below is also the plan for closures and bans on parking in the Sassi of Matera."

That'll look cool: the bike joining the chase from a little alleyway and a jump.

I love it when they build old stuff. Have you seen that great clip from the Top Gear special from the shooting of Skyfall where Michael G Wilson shows Richard Hammond around some of the ancient buildings they have to protect in Istanbul? :)
