    AVTAK & TSWLM

TSWLM is higher for me by a decent margin over SP.

And while I think there is a good film frustratingly lurking within TWINE, and elements of it I really like (elektra/Renard double act, opening boat chase, zukovsky) - it's not high on rewatchablity for me. Whereas AVTAK, for all its faults (geriatric fight scenes, too much literal horseplay, California girls, Moore's lack of chemistry with Roberts) the highs in AVTAK elevate it - the outstanding Barry score, Zorin/mayday double act, Paris chase, San Francisco (I love that city!), theme tune and nostalgia factor means that it higher on the rewatchablity.

Despite the charm of Sir Rog and the genius of Barry, it'll have to be TWINE. True, it's frustrating, and often embarrassing to watch, but there is a good film trying to get out. And an interesting film, that doesn't always succeed, is better than the standard cookie cutter movie, that typifies Glen's era.

TSWLM. No need to go into the reasons with this match up.

TWINE. Closer than I thought as both TWINE and AVTAK are flawed but re-watchable movies. Pierce’s third outing gets the nod here since (IMO) this is his most assured performance as Bond.

TSWLM. Not close as I very down on SP at the moment.

Because of its sets, score and trippy '60s fantasy plot, though TND is not a bad Bond film.

TND barely over YOLT - could change, but lately I prefer TND.

    FRWL obliterates DAD.

TND over YOLT, because the latter puts me to sleep, while the former is the best Bond film ever made.

DAD over FRWL. While FRWL is clearly the better made film, it simply doesn’t entertain me. DAD may be ridiculous, but it never fails to excite.

YOLT over TND - not by much.
FRWL vs. DAD: How could it be different? The perennial best movie of them all vs. the all-time worst.

YOLT - I really enjoy YOLT. The settings, my favourite 007 soundtrack, the cinematography, Ken Adams design, tiger tanaka. The first half of this film is exciting. And the final climatic battle is top shelf Bond.

    FRWL (my favourite Bond film)

YOLT. While TND is certainly enjoyable, for me YOLT is Iconic. Ken Adam’s sets, John Barry’s score (w/ Nancy’s Sinatra’s vocals), Freddie Young’s cinematography, Donald Pleasence’s Blofeld, “Tiger” Tanaka, and the lovely Akiko Wakabayashi and Mie Hama, all make it a classic. Not even the numerous spaceflight related goofs (i.e. using an Atlas-Agenda shot for a “Jupiter” (Gemini) launch, etc.) subtract from it. And did I mention that Ms. Hama looks quite…..fetching…..!

FRWL. (vs. DAD): To borrow a quote from TB - “You must be joking!”
