Wondering where OP & TLD might be. Hopefully a winter collection thing? Anyway, happily I’ve collected all the other ones, and it’s been money well spent as I’ve been reading them all. Unless something unexpected comes up, I expect these to be the versions of these beloved books that last my lifetime. Can’t really ask for much better!

I've been enjoying your reviews FoxRox, and like you, I'm eager to complete my collection of Folio editions.

Much appreciated! :) I need to get to OHMSS soon!

On my most recent re-read, I rated OHMSS at the top, along with From Russia With Love. For me, OHMSS was Fleming's late-era masterpiece.

Free shipping on orders of $300 or more, which seems like a lot, but for myself my collection is complete on spending about $320, and shipping from Folio tends to cost a lot. If you've got some spare cash and a collection that needs finishing now might be the time!

For those that are (like me) just waiting on one book - I saw this post from the folio society facebook page in late October where they said 'due to reasons out of our control, Octopussy & The Living Daylights has had to be delayed. Apologies for the wait'. Will be interested to see whether they add '007 in New York' into the collection.

Interesting. Good to at least know it should still be in the works and coming eventually. I see no reason not to include all the short stories so we have a completely complete Fleming Folio set! I just started on OHMSS in my marathon actually to kick off the new year.

What would be the reason it wouldn't be included? Thanks also for the info on this missing edition!

Just because '007 in New York' wasn't originally released with the collection. I think it was only added in 2002? But I suspect they'll probably include it.

I'm waiting for this one to complete the collection too.

For some reason, I'm not expecting 007 in New York to be in there. I think perhaps because it was never a 'proper' short story. I'd rather it be in there of course. The more the merrier!
And as I've said on this thread before, Property of a Lady wasn't even in the first UK hardback. It was a really slim book when it first came out.
That's my UK 1st on top of my Folios. As you can see, it could use a bit of beefing up!

'The Property of a Lady' (The Ivory Hammer, 1963) also wasn't included in Octopussy until the Pan paperback edition in 1967 so hopefully* both extra stories will appear in this collection. However, the fact the Folio Society is referring to it as Octopussy and The Living Daylights, the Jonathan Cape first edition title, makes one wonder a little...

    * Read the possible reasons for this here:

While we're contemplating what's going to be in the final Folio book, here's a post Red Snow made on this thread a while ago, which I found very informative.

@ColonelAdamski this is what the Folio Society confirmed to me regarding the source material for the Fleming novels:

"The James Bond Folio editions are taken from earlier versions of the Ian Fleming novels published in the 1960s, and most closely follow the 2012 Vintage printings with minor emendations to the text."

Beautiful collection! The UK First is an awesome inclusion too. Three away from completing my own, four including Octopussy.

I still have another five to go. Looking forward to that last volume of short stories.
  • Just need Octopussy to complete the collection, and as with many of these Folio’s it’ll be my first time reading it. I imagine it got delayed due to Fay Dalton’s schedule, that’s the only factor I can think of that might throw a spanner in the works. I also think this edition will have 007 in New York and Property of a Lady due to the cost of these editions and to complete the Fleming material.
