I’m not that excited for Falcon and Winter Soldier. They are easily my two least favourite characters and the trailers have looked bland and the humour falls flat. I’m hoping I will be surprised but there are other projects I am looking forward to more.

Episode six of WandaVision was a mixed bag I find the whole thing basic, the ending kind of saved it. The problem with the show for me anyway is it feels like it's being padded out with elements and reveals being repetive. For large parts of the episode I was bored. Time to wrap this thing up, hopefully we will get a good finale. (Just checked IMDB there are still three episodes left urgh!)

Episode seven of WandaVision any good work in the show up to now has just been destroyed, that episode was terrible littered with bs plot armour.
  • So there are only two episodes left. I look forward to seeing Dr. Strange (at least in a small cameo).

I think I might be all Marvel-ed out at this stage, as WandaVision has not really impressed me all that much. Perhaps I'm not picking up all the references.

WandaVision is just full of gimmicks not much story telling going on, it leads into the next set of movies so Marvel have our money to a degree, being cynical.

I'm inclined to agree that by now, WandaVision has overstayed its welcome. They've got two episodes left if I'm not mistaken to somehow bring it all together, or build up to a big climax (or both?). Either way, I'm going to hold off my final review till after the final episode has aired. It can still go both ways for me.
  • Wow I’m surprised by some of the responses here because I’m absolutely loving WandaVision. I think it’s a great look at how to deal with grief and does a great job of fleshing our some lower-tier Marvel characters, such as Wanda and giving smaller characters like Darcy and Monica Rambeau a chance for redemption. I love the week-to-week sitcom style. I just think it’s refreshing to see something different from Marvel and seeing them take a big risk like this, which hopefully they will follow through with upcoming projects.

Spiderman 4 will be called Home to Roost or Lassie Come Home

    Or rather Spidey Come Home.

I'm mad at myself for not picking up on the Agatha Harkness thing weeks ago. I don't come on here much at all, but I agree that the show was spinning its wheels. I believe it's taken a turn.

On a other note, as a superhero fan since the early '60s, it drives me nuts that the only major Marvel character (I was primarily a DC kid, but if you love one...) that has not been given a live action incarnation is their first superhero: Namor: The Sub-Mariner. The guy pre-dates Batman! I always hear that it's coming. Well, not yet.

Last I remember the rights to Namor are still held by another studio.

The rights, along with the ones for the Hulk, were held by Universal until last year when they reverted back to Marvel.

The word on the street (from the usually reliable sources, anyway) is that they're going to introduce him and Atlantis in Black Panther 2.

Oh wow so they finally reverted.

Not surprised. Disney intentionally opted not to produce a Hulk film just so the rights would expire. Guess the same with Namor.

Episode eight of WandaVision is best episode so far, the harrowing scenes worked well. A certain character I felt was a bit hammy and does not fit the tone of other things going on.

There was some good reasoning as to why there was a link/attraction between
Wanda and Vision, there is implication Wanda is attracted to the infinity stone that Vision has/had.

Like last week look out for the post credit scene...
  • WandaVision, I believe, has made Wanda into a top tier Marvel character, alongside Cap, Thor, and Iron Man. Episode 8 delivered answers I didn’t know I needed, and is showing what an incredible actress Elizabeth Olsen is. Can’t wait for the finale!

WandaVision Finale, its all a bit muddled to the point this felt written on the fly. Ultimately at this point I did not care. There was a lot of special effect fights that felt inconsequential.

Agreed. The first few episodes held enormous promise, but something got lost along the way. I had a relatively good time with the series, but I am somewhat disappointed nonetheless. It's as if they were trying to bite off more than they were willing to chew. They had the guts to go for something really outside-the-box with the first half of the series, something that could easily have backfired, but didn't, because we felt a sense of mystery creeping in that had never been executed in such a way in any of the MCU films so far. It kept us going, hoping for a tremendous payoff, but that never came, at least not in my opinion. Endings are difficult though.

I really loved the series and I would have to admit I was disappointed in the finale. I didn’t think it was bad, and it didn’t ruin the show, but like you said they had the opportunity to go outside of the box and do something really crazy and a I was disappointed they handled the finale in a similar way to how they would handle most final battles in this universe. I thought it was a really safe ending, and while from a character standpoint I loved where it ended Wanda, I was just itching for a bit more.

Still, I do love this series and it is a high bar for the rest of the MCU, and has made both Wanda and Vision some of my favourite characters in this universe. I have to admit I am not really looking forward to Falcon and the Winter Soldier, as both are my least favourite Avengers and the trailer hasn’t interested me and looks very safe. I am hoping I’m wrong.

They did play it safe though to form thinking about it, the films are often quite straight forward and are littered with teases for the next installment. WandaVision in the finale spent some time setting other things up.

My expectations were Wanda having a complete breakdown, Wanda did some bad things in the show though bizarrely got a free pass from certain charactors. All I kept thinking near the end is Wanda should be in jail and some of the other Avengers should be escorting her there.

Guys, I know I hardly come on here, but I've been a comics fan since the '60s, and I just thought of a pretty good bit of trivia. I believe I am correct in this.

Aside from the Captain America sub-franchise (Cap, Bucky, Red Skull, etc.), who is the oldest (as in first appeared in print) character to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? I am not including the inert Human Torch that we see briefly in the first Cap film.

Not sure of the answer to that without cheating.

There was a Vision that predated Captain America, but it's really not the same character.

WandaVision ended in the blandest way imaginable. Very disappointing. I enjoyed the scenes where Olsen and Bettany actually got to act, though.

It must be surreal to see material you read in your youth be turned to films.

Some more delays and reasons to get Disney+, it seems.

The Falcon and Winter Soldier episode 1 great start already locked into this. I like the tone they have gone with, feels like a movie sequel to the Cap movies.

Edited: I watched episode 2 even better I like where they are going with this and there is some deep dive character work here that I was hoping for.

That's quite funny, Brie gets a hard time from some though I like her.
