    The confidence is what gets me every time about that intro. If he was nervous, he didn't show it. It's quite different to another casino rendition of those famous words which was to come some 30+ years later.

    Watching this on a 4K player and 4K TV looks amazing upscaled, Eon give us 4K transfers the early films will be unbelievable

    Connery always seemed menacing in Dr. No his body language was great as an actor, in a instant he could change mindset

    You're right. I also get the impression, thinking about the film, that Connery was just starting to get used to the character (and that showed to me in certain scenes), and in following films he'd be even more at home in it.

    Bond v Dent one of the best scenes in the series, no matter how many times I have watched the scene it's always intense.

    When megaphone man is trying to call out Bond et al, its funny when he removes mega phone from his mouth he still has mega phone sound voice :))

    I assumed that the guys Jamaican accent was feared to be too difficult for Brits and Americans. Hence the dubbed voice.

    It's amusing the accent is not the issue it's the timing

    Bonds interaction with Julius No is far superior to many films that followed

    Personally I love alot of false narrative that exist within the films, it lends to alternate time lines and speculation. Admittedly in the 80's all we did was watch the next film without online BS

    AVTAK could leapfrog OP in my ranking; they have been neck and neck for a while. Way back in the day AVTAK took my last place; it’s now 18 and has a chance to climb up 1 or 2 more spots. I find an awful lot to enjoy in it despite its shortcomings.

    I'm afraid I agree. The finale at Whitaker's isn't all that good either imho, and neither is the concert sequence that follows, where Kamran and his Afgan cohorts suddenly show up with their guns. Quite cheesy stuff.

    TLD is one of the most beloved Bond films here. It is a good but not great Bond film in my eyes. The third act drags it down too much. It has some really awesome stuff in it though.

    I do like Bond's reveal to Kara after she drugs him. I don't quite remember but I think he pulls his gun when Necros comes in, doesn't he.

    Am I the only one who likes the Afganistan sequence? Firstly, it's different to the generic shootouts in GF, TB, YOLT, OHMSS, DAF, TSWLM, MR and TND. The Gilbert finales are the worst contenders because they even have the same/similar "stuntman being blown away from explosion" angle. And the cargo net fight is unique and one of the few great fights seen since its release

    w2bond, one thing I like about that sequence is Bond's stealth in taking the bomb into the truck. And yes, the cargo net fight is good--heights play on the nerves.
