Some sage advice from a Robot of the Future. I don't recommend you follow it however, although I am of course a mere human:

Some piece of great music I've been hearing recently.

    Gotta love the 70's.

Here is a special kind of gun barrel. In 1995, John Barry rerecorded a lot of themes for a compilation album called "Moviola II: Action and Adventure". Instead of rerecording them as he played them, he rearranged his themes to suit the style he was scoring by the 90s. So his then new recording of the Goldfinger theme sounds much closer to how he scored Bond films by the 80s. Because he recorded these in 1995, I thought it would be special to see how they would have fit in GOLDENEYE. While he was offered to do that score, he was unavailable due to his commitments to THE SCARLET LETTER, so he recommended Eric Serra.

So in a way, this may be the closest we ever get to hearing how John Barry would have scored GOLDENEYE in 1995.

A few months ago I did the same thing by replacing the tank chase score with "The James Bond Theme" and "007" that are from the same compilation album recorded in 1995.

Greene's book was remade by John Le Carre as The Tailor of Panama that, of course, became a very watchable motion picture with Pierce Brosnan and Geoffrey Rush...
