I respect your opinion and yes Quantum Of Solace on PS3/XBOX 360 was basically a run and gun game with a few pretty good fight scenes mixed in. Overall, the PS3/XBOX 360 version was a fun game even though it was not particularly impressive. The PS2 version was also an average game and while it did a better job from a story aspect, the game itself just wasn't particularly fun although it did have potential to be better. If they spent more time improving the shooting mechanics, difficulty and graphics, then maybe Quantum Of Solace for the PS2 would have been one of the best. Then again, you could say that about nearly all of the games. If Nightfire had been a bit more challenging with smarter AI bots and a few more missions, then it might have ended up being the best Bond game of all time (at least the console version anyway).
Oh, definitely not, no disrespect intended, mate. Apologies if I showed the opposite attitude. I just felt the PS3/X360 Quantum was too linear and didn't have alternative approaches. The PS2 one didn't have that much, either, but to me, at least, it felt like a game. The only downer of that version was its graphical department, which was awful and worse than any Bond game that came before on the platform. But, gameplay makes up for me most. Certainly the "White's Estate" level alone was better designed and cleverly constructed than the one in the PS3/X360 version. The only level that holds out as superior in the latter was the Opera House level, and it's certainly one of my favourite levels in the entire Bond gaming history. As for Nightfire on Console, I thought they did a fantastic job at everything. It was the PC version that had underwritten AI, but then again, when I tried the demo version of the game, the AI were smarter and there were lot of motion captures (and additional content like objectives and materials) missing from the final game, which I found odd.

Yes, I see what you are saying. In my opinion, all of Activision's games were pretty linear and several of them could have used some more polish. Overall speaking, EA put more effort into their games as there was more freedom in the levels. I think that Nightfire on console was a pretty good game but I think that if the AI was better, it could have been a legendary game maybe on par with Goldeneye 64 and Perfect Dark. It's still a top five Bond game along with Goldeneye 64, Everything or Nothing (console), TWINE 64 and Agent Under Fire. The PC version was vastly inferior to the console version gameplay wise and that has been the problem with a lot of games that have been released on multiple platforms.
