Fortunately the "Brother" aspect wasn't that bad. It was was a just metaphor nothing more.

He's amazing; not much more I can see others haven't already. Cool, calm. confident but not smarmy. Craig just flat out owns the role now. He proved he can do the lighter side with his reactions to
falling on the couch, the car not working, waving to the guy after the funeral
... he just nailed it all. Tons of subtleties, lots of deeper levels. This might be my fav of any Bond performances. I've only seen it twice so time will tell but he's a total stud.

Completely agreed. There's never a single thing wrong with his performance. In fact I'd say he's one of the best actors on the face of the earth!

Okay, reality check: he's awesome as Bond.

I knew when Craig yelled at Waltz to turn the camera off this would be lauded as his best performance, just in this scene & as a whole his range was better in SP than SF IMO

Couldn't agree more. I even enjoyed fluff like Archangel, Dream House and Cowboys & Aliens because of the credibility that Craig brought. But his three films where I feel he truly gave his all are Enduring Love, Casino Royale, and Flashbacks of a Fool. I truly hope he gets an Oscar nom and win one day. My whole family and I saw him in theatre (Betrayal) and have all become huge fans of his.

@GeneralGogol would you recommend Enduring Love? I've stayed clear of it because I really didn't like the novel.

@tigers99 I'm not a huge fan of the genre, but it's an alright film. I recommend it for the direction and the three lead performances from Craig, Rhys Ifans, and Samantha Morton.

EL is great through the very good performanes throughout amd its interesting topic. Rhys is creepy in an understated way and how he gets Daniel into a state pfind, ehere he is in damger to loose ot, is very well done.

I remember a nice anecdote, where people were like: And DC is playing the NORMAL guy?? As opposed to all.the weirdos he had done

I agree with all of you. This is my favourite (maybe second to Thunderball) performance ever from any Bond (or non Bond film for that matter) ever. Every little subtle thing is perfect. Every line delivered flawlessly. Every movement cool as hell. Even watching him walk in the tracking shot for like three minutes was entertaining, any other actor, other than Connery maybe, would have been a disaster. His performance is inspiration, and now I'm trying to copy it as I always have. :D

Yeah, that opening tracking shot... I still can't understand how they pulled it off. It's epic and awe inspiring.

I wonder, many people here have stated, Craig is now up there with Connery's performance in TB.
I agree of course on Craig having given one of the very best performances of all Bond movies.

But why is Connery's finest performance considered to be TB??
I liked him better in GF and FRWL.

Nit that I necessarily agree with this but think some people take umbridge with the fact that Connery didn't really do much in GF, he was just loitering around and was a captive for most of the movie. In FRWL, Connery was smooth but he was never in charge of the situation he was in. SP were always one step ahead and quite brilliantly so.

In TB, Connery was just in a different league. He was uber confident, took charge, killed mercilessly and was just raw alpha. From seducing Pat Fearing to trolling Count Lippe, sleeping knowingly with the enemy in Fiona and then using her as a bullet shield to spearing Vargas in the most humiliating way all the while making Felix look like a second rate groupie and really getting under the skin of Largo. He had M's unshakable trust and confidence and he justvtook ownership of everything he did. Connery was just on top form and the complete package.

For me, Craig is the closest of Connery's successors to match him but he still hasn't reached Connery status just yet and I doubt he or anyone else ever will.

Agreed. It's impossible. Especially these days, because some of the behaviour required to earn the title would be considered sexist/misogynist, and EON sadly won't film it.

Good for him. He definitely deserves it. Craig was the best thing about SP and he really brought his A game as per usual.

Dan aced it in SP. On a par with Connery in DN, GF, TB, for me.... but not as good as Sean in FRWL - that will remain the quintessential 007 performance.
