Sharp stuff you own.

I went camping last month & bought a camping knife at a local store... it was inexpensive but REALLY nicely styled. When I got home I found another online & ordered it so I could customize the one I got on holiday (in case I effed it up), but to my surprise I made it look okay! I removed the blackened area so I'd feel more comfortable using it to cut food. Throwing it into dead trees is fun, but not too useful.

I also own a Samurai sword I bought in '85 in NY & a bunch of small fun but not tactically useful throwing knives to go with my PPK airsoft gun for simple target practice.

So, what's your cutlery like?

Cool thread. Let's see some pics though, fellas! ;)

I have this handy credit card knife, which I keep in my wallet among other essentials:

My katana and wakizashi are high-carbon steel- I'm afraid these photos don't do them justice though. These are legal to import into Australia, but not the DAF/Mr Wint cork opener, as I discovered. Go figure.

Do Bond's razors count? Only just? That's okay- I like close shaves. :D

And you can see one in CR ;)

Forgot about those. Neat collection there @ggl007. I had one on a keyring, pretty much like your gold one- but completely black, and with the holes left unpainted to reveal the gold underneath. What actually happened to Kratt? He was taken out by Mr White, I assume?

Love the credit card knife, @QBranch.

Here's my Samurai- I walked out of a NYC theatre after seeing Highlander, and bough for $100 (1985 dollars) at a Chinese store.

No, no, the collection is not mine! I just have one, that is very similar to the big image.

Depends. Do you own it, or merely rent it?

I suppose since you could sort of cut someone in half with it that might qualify it as "sharp" in that way...

Amateur knife smith action #2- Well I modified my camping knife again... I turned down the gutting point (my file is great, but it took a few minutes) & made it sharp so it could puncture cans & stuff and my test was totally successful. A good camping knife made even better!

Now, it LOOKS cool, and it's 440 steel, but it's only 3mm thick. Good for cutting cheese or branches, but cutting thick wood or digging a trench? Nahh. But it was only $10.

Awesome cutting tools there, guys! I wouldn't mind getting a proper knife of that size- I'm afraid the length of my blades go from one extreme to the other!

Cheers, @chrisisall. At less than a dollar online, it was an absolute steel... Love your sword- you've certainly looked after it well. Sadly, my own katana didn't come with that wave on the blade, so I have a mismatched pair.
