My Bond by Design just turned up, I havnt opened it yet as I have to fly, but a get the same feelings about it being an expensive time for us fans, Its all self inflicted thou, I bought the steelbooks, have nearly every new book on order (the book Depository is amazing BTW) and then if that wasn't enough I bought a couple of tickets to the New Zealand premier, and bought a set of Jaws teeth off eBay and a couple of Spectre rings. I'm not complaining, I'm having a bit of my time, treating myself.

Very good! Can't wait to get my own copy.
  • @eddychaput

Fantastic looking book. Looks to be packed with lots of cool artwork. Thanks a lot for uploading the video. Enjoy your time going through it. Did it contain any spoiler art from Spectre?

Have to wait until November 11 to see Spectre and the book should arrive just before.

Is that a steelbook of NSNA? it looks like a regular Blu-ray.

    Cool collection @Gustav_Graves

It is a regular BluRay. But this way it looks like a better, nicer composition. 13 steelbooks is a rotten number to organize on a picture hehe.

Ok. And at least a better film (not by much) than the 1967 version of Casino Royale which I can also see in the line up.

Funny you should ask. This new book plays the same trick the 2012 50 Years of Bond posters did in which they teased 1 SF poster and that was it.

The two pages concerning SP in the book that have popped up online in previews are the only 2 pages about that movie. So no, there are no spoilers.

Thanks for the information. Looking forward to getting my copy.

    And this.

I feel that to live like Bond (or a Bond girl or villain), one would purchase products from the brands featured in the films, not 007 licensed products. I feel like 007 if I' using the same suitcase as he does, not a suitcase with "SPECTRE - 007" plastered over it.

There was a really odd little tie-in on the site some time ago. I believe it was a notebook that had "SPECTRE" on the cover. Come on...

    But that's just me.

I wish Diamond Select Toys/Art Asylum would do a line of James Bond action figures. Their line of Star Trek action figures is awesome. Great likenesses to actors and come with amazing accessories. And a good 7 inches tall Wave one could be Bond legends.

Sean Connery from Goldfinger wearing his white tux with PPK, Gold Bar, attache case.

George Lazenby from OHMSS in the blue snowsuit from the finale with a PPK Sten machingun and mini camera.

Roger Moore from The Spy who loved me, Naval wear (Finale) with PPK, microfilm, detonator bomb and sten machinegun.

Timothy Dalton from the Living Daylights, black winter Vienna wear, with PPK, AK47, Binocular glasses and keyring gadget.

Pierce Brosnan from GoldenEye in green jungle outfit from Cuba with Silenced PPK, Goldeneye disc, remote mines and AK47.

Daniel Craig from Casino Royale in Black Tuxedo with PPK, Defibrillator, Martini glass, and a table knife.

    More ideas to come. :)

Cool and thanks! Now i will definitley buy it. I already have the Movie Posters one, and it is a really good "money for value" buy. Will order together with "Bond Ond Bond" and "Life 50 Years od JB", 2 of the fews i dont have. Has anybody here read this two and could tell me if they are worth the buy? cheers

@Murdock if only you were in charge of merchandising...

@MI6LisbonBranch - if you are on about the book by Sir Rog, "Bond on Bond", then yes, I highly recommend it.

Just picked up a copy. It's a fantastic book, probably as good as The Art of Bond from '06. I was also really impressed with the packaging. It'll fit nicely beside my 50 Years of Bond Posters. However, nothing will ever come close to The James Bond Archives, IMO. That one's irreplaceable.

I'm just after buying Bond By Design in TK Maxx for just £14.99. Very surprised to see a copy there.

I was thinking of buying the book "Bond By Design", but I already have the highly extensive Barbacana museum exhibition book "Designing 007: 50 Years Of Bond Style" (208 pages). And I saw many drawings from that book also appear in "Bond By Design". And I think the overall museum exhibition gave you a much better overview of the Bond design, including so many design story boards about costumes, etc.

In any case, I did buy "50 Years Of Bond Movies" from the same publisher DK. It's the new 2015 revised edition, 330 pages :-).

Also, I made some better pictures of my steelbook collection. This time around I sorted them on (spectral) color code :-):

I just got the ring today. Thankfully the seller is based in Singapore which is where I'm at, so I got it within a few days. It looks good.. Definitely the best looking one that I've seen. I really like it! Like you, I will be wearing it when I go see the movie!

Neat pics, @imranbecks, thanks for sharing some close-ups. It does seem to be the most accurate rep available by far. Been eyeing it off for a while now, and just picked one up a couple of days ago. Still a month's wait until SP for me, should be plenty of time for it to arrive.

Very impressive. If only one had a ravishing red head to put it on.

I spotted Empire's latest edition, whilst filling up my car. I'm a sucker for that type of thing. Naturally I'm going to wait until after I've seen Spectre to read it.

I feel the same way. I have a bit of official merchandise/promo stuff, but nothing excites me more than collecting the things seen on screen, and even more so, the stuff custom-made specifically for the films.

I just want to thank the people who took a few minutes to watch that unboxing video. My channel doesn't get a lot of hits (I started it on a whim. I don't honestly have much intention of whoring myself out to just get plenty of views) but that Bond by Design video is one of the more popular ones. Thanks!
