Sad news. RIP James. You composed many of my favorite film scores. Here's one of my favorite Horner tracks.

    Very tragic indeed! :(

I'm a fan of James Horner; 61 is too young, for everybody but certainly also for such a talented man.

For many, including myself, movie sound tracks are the only cultural connection we have with classical music. Horner's work was just wonderful. The soundtrack is so often not given the credit it deserves in its contribution towards a classic movie. As with Barry, his work will live on, and on, and on. Millions have loved his music and the movies he helped made great. But a fraction will recognise his name.

I heard the news this morning while I was drifting in and out of sleep. I can't believe it. So sad.

RIP James Horner. From Titanic & Avatar to Enemy at the Gates & Braveheart, a large hole in Hollywood soundtracks has just been formed. My prayers go out to his soul and family.

Last Saturday i watched Avatar who has very good audio and Horner was composer from this movie. I hope James Newton Howard, Howard Shore or Steve Price can follow him up as composer for Avatar 2 and in Horner his legacy.

RIP James. Such a wonderful, talented composer. I would have love to see what he could have done with a Bond film
  • A huge loss for the film world. Left me in a real state of shock when I heard the news. But James Horner's memory will always live on in the many incredible scores he composed.

Tragic. His compositions were among the most evoking pieces of music to ever grace film.

May his spirit travel to the sound of his angelic tunes.
