    Sorry @chrisisall but that headbutt looked miles away from actually connecting. @doubleohdad is right. It looked like something out of a Roger Moore fight. It had nothing to do with the proximity in which Dalton delivered it. It was the fact that Dalton very clearly didn't make contact that and that my 94 year old grandfather could've delivered it with more intensity and energy. Dalton's headbutt to Dario in LTK is completely different story. Dalton looked like he crushed Benecio Del Toro's face with that one.

    Exactly, on all accounts. That headbutt fool no one.
    And yeah on the Del Toro headbutt.

    It looked pitiful because it WAS pitiful. OMG, you guys just wanna fight for the sake of fighting. Or maybe you're reacting to my posts without actually READING them. :))
    It was close quarters, and in that range you're quite limited in options. You throw what you can in the hopes some of it will be effective. The crap head butt was 100% realistic in that it was a distraction at best. Most fight scenes omit sloppy moves that aren't totally successful, and that's why I particularly like this one.


    How could it be realistic if looked TOTALLY FAKE?

    Ennh! Sorry Hans, wrong guess. I have Bond movies at my beck & call here and the connect looks real enough albeit light in impact. As I said, it was more a distraction to his enemy than anything else in the situation.

    On a separate thread I made a list of what I consider to be the best fights in the history of the franchise (could mean realistic, intense, iconic or just memorable). Not trying to come out with an even number I ended up with 20. Dalton, who I enjoy as Bond, was the only one of the six actors that I couldn't list even one acceptable example for.

    I'd list the end fight in TLD. And the scene with Putkin, where he is about to kill him. Not much of a fight, but very tough. Take those scenes over anything in the Moore films.

    NOTES:
    - #2 was more visually stunning, but I enjoyed everything more about Casino Royale
    - GoldenEye was my first Bond film and first made within my lifetime. Still hold affection for it.
    - Shame to put QOS in penultimate position, but apart from Craig, it was flat as a pancake. Even Jeffrey Wright and Giancarlo Gianni couldn't improve it.

    Hmmm this is quite tough as I find the Brosnans haven't aged well. Watching them now makes me realise that ol Pierce is a pretty poor actor and got by mostly on his good looks and charm. His performance in action scenes are also uniformly awful (his hilarious attempts at that thing we call 'running' is also a low-light, as was the way he sashayed up stairs and through doorways with all the menace of a annoyed flight steward). That being said, he was let down awfully script-wise with some of his later efforts.

    Enough of that, here's my listing...

    1. CR (by a country mile)

    2. GE/SF (can't choose between them, both flawed but more good than bad)

    4. QoS (hated it at first but come round to it being a half decent add-on to CR)
    5. TND (most assured of the Brosnans, ropey villains aside)
    6. TWINE (dull and stupid)
    7. DAD (or how to waste the Moonraker novel plot)

    1.Casino Royale and after that I have multiple choices...

    Let's just say Die Another Day is worst of the bunch.

    Skyfall is ,in many aspects, as good as CR, but I also have a soft spot for Quantum of Solace and Tomorrow Never Dies and I kind of think it is somehow better than Goldeneye.

    1 is my clear standout, 2-4 are all up there and pretty close together, the rest are OK. It's a shame Broz didn't get more to work with, there were many good aspects to his portrayal.
    If Dalts was included, I think TLD would slot in above QOS and LTK just below QOS.

    CR - no debate. My favourite movie of all time, the biggest influence on my personal life ever.

    2. SF - I've said before that from a critical standpoint there are a few technical things I don't like but despite that, I enjoy this film immensely, and had me more emotionally invested than any film ever.

    3. GE - so close to number 2, but I'd rather watch Skyfall over it. I still impersonate the way Brosnan opens that boat door.

    4. QoS - Flawed, weak villain, but still enjoyable, and Craig is the real reason it's this high. I'd watch it over:

    5. DAD - don't murder me, but I enjoy this film a lot, it's unique, fun, silly: is it really that silly? The invisible car never seemed that "out there", only the surf scene. I'd rather watch it over the next in my list.

    6. TND - An enjoyable film, reminds me of a boring day at my grandparents where I'd watch it. The problem is that the first 1/4 of the film (disclusing the PTS which is one of the best) is very boring. The rest is great.

    7. TWINE - eh. Run of the mill, not memorable. Corny.

    I feel the same way. When he leaves Hamburg things start to take a turn for the worse very quickly imo. Until then, it's excellent.

    Exactly. Up to the 'Skydive' TND is Brosnans best Bond and better than GE. Plus TND has a better score.

    Now that I think of it, the moment Bond and Why?Lin get fished out of the water after the scuba scene is where I turn TND off and continue with the rest of my day/evening.

    The moment where it becomes an excuse for action sequences, no story and an awful final battle in a fake looking set! Agreed.

    I'm basically talking about the parts on the ship, killing of the survivors, and Elliot Carver's introduction. Right when we see Bond, that's when it stops getting boring for me. I do agree though past the Hamburg scenes the excitement tones down.

    Despite all the criticism on the film, it still seems quite obvious that "Skyfall" is the 2nd best Bond film from the 7 most recent films in this poll :-). Even better than "GoldenEye". And it's 2015 now.

    That's not really saying all that much though.

    It's really out of 3 rather than 7, since two on that list are among the worst in the franchise history imho (TWINE & DAD), one has many eccentricities that will always keep it from the top or near the bottom (QoS), and one descends into action banality (TND) after a promising start, also keeping it from the top and closer to the bottom for many.

    So only two others are worthy competitors (CR & GE) for the top slots.

    Give it a few years (especially after SP comes out) and stack it up against the whole canon - I'm sure SF will fall a few more spots.

    The performance of Craig over Brozza makes SF far superior to GE. In terms of the scores, Newman is ok but he is a class act compared with Serra.
