He is fun, always seems like a nice guy too. Not sure about Bond, but I'd like to see him in a sort Who Dares Wins sort of thing.
  • I would love to see Gareth Evens direct a Bond film, deep down I want him to work with Scott Adkins, which top of my list would be on Bond.

Before someone jumps in with "he's just an overgrown stuntman", Adkins is still my #1 for Bond, even though I know in my heart of hearts it is never going to happen.

I remember suggesting him a few years ago, and I do still think he’d make a terrific action focused, Brosnan sort of Bond. But yeah, I can’t see them going back in that direction for a while to be honest. I think they’ll want another actor of Craig’s calibre next.

Hopefully we can still get him in a Bond film one day though. He’d make a great henchman, or even a Trevelayn sort of villain.

Now I like the sound of that. Not a remake, but something along those lines.

That and his age goes against him, 45, especially if 3-4 years gaps are the norm going forward.

I'd be disappointed, but I suppose it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. I would just find it boring/safe.

I know some are craving that sort of thing after NTTD, but I guess I'm not in that camp.

After watching crazy rich asians and the gentleman, I'm warming up to the idea of Henry Goulding as bond!

Having brought him up recently, I think my infatuation with the idea has maybe more to do with the fact that he is a former travel programme presenter and seems like a true citizen of the world, which immediatly makes my mind jump towards films with him bringing back more of a travelogue element, which I would absolutely love. There's also the bit where I feel like Golding's biography has similarities with Bond's biography, only updated a bit. British father, Malay mother, born in Malaysia, moved to England as a boy and went to school there before pursuing a globetrotting career. However, that is of course totale conjecture and only tangentially has anything to do with whether or not he would be good in the role.
I think he would be great if they decide to go a bit less serious, a bit less "actorly". A beautiful man in a beautiful location doing ugly things. There are worse films. I would be very surprised if he could ever get even close to Craig's acting.

As you say: For what it's worth. For me that reads as Vaughn trying to hitch two of his upcoming projects to the Bond wagon in a promotion event...

Neither Cavill nor Goulding for me. Hard pass in fact, so much so I'd ditch the franchise.

    Dare I ask who you'd pick @JeremyBondon ;)

Whoever they pick, unless it's someone clearly not suited, then I have faith in Barbara Broccoli, Michael G Wilson, Gregg Wilson, casting director Debbie McWilliams and likely her daughter Jemima McWilliams. Along with the director of Bond 26.
They know what they're doing. They don't just pick someone on a whim. Nor are they actively trying to destroy one of the longest, and most profitable film series in cinema.
We might not all be happy with their choice, but it will be someone suited to the role.

When you look at some of the people they almost picked or who they had on stand-by, it's hard to really, fully, imagine any of them as Bond - so EON do have a great track record of selecting the best of the bunch. Fingers crossed.

Whoever plays Bond also has to sing the theme song.

You’re giving me PTSD flashbacks to when Robbie Williams was a “contender” to replace Pierce.

The next Bond actor should be someone with the letter O somewhere in their name. So that the letter can be used to build the word OO7 like in the Casino Royale poster.

Apologies to Henry Cavill, Luke Evans, Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender, Sam Claflin, Aidan Turner, Richard Madden, Adrian Paul, Regé-Jean Page, Cillian Murphy, Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch.

Welcome to the Bond family Tom Hardy, Sope Dirisu, Scott Adkins, Joe Cole, Henry Golding, Tom Hiddleston, James Norton, Jamie Dornan.

Well, if Turner can infiltrate Nazi headquarters, assassinate Hitler, get out and live long enough to disguise himself as Sam Elliott and kill the last Bigfoot, he's off to a good start...
