Brosnan is probably closest to the look of the Casalanguida Bond, so that makes him a good fit for live action recreations of the comics. Nicely done, @ClarkDevlin.

The Casino Royale release date is suprisingly stable at the moment at 17.01.
Thats in two weeks. Usually they would have delayed it by now

Give them time, @00Agent, it is just after the holiday. When they all come back into work and find that the date is close, they'll feel compelled to push it back another four weeks minimum. ;)

Strangly enought, the illiustrators of The Body will change in the different issue, on the cover issue 1 it is Luca Casilanguida, issue 2 and 3 of Antonio Fuso (Service). And even if Fuso is on the cover of the issue 3, the site of Dynamite list Rapha Lobosco as the illustrator of the n°3.

Seen the cover before but never really noticed Fuso replacing Casalanguida. Strange.

Fuso happens to be one of the least favorites I have under Dynamte’s titles.

I had noticed it actually when the Cover was released, but i did not know what to make of it. But it does tells me what i already suspected, which is that The Body might be one of the most experimental and unconventional Dynamite Comics yet. Especially Ales Kot is a very unconventional choice for a Bond story.

Even the Story synopsis so far tells me that this won't be a formulaic, by the numbers Bond adventure, and you can only do that so often until you need to switch it up a little bit. I don't mind that as long as its good. So i will judge it after it's completed.
My only worry, as always, is that the writer might not "get" the character and what he's about.

I did a Dynamite comics marathon yesterday and the day before yesterday.

    1) VARGR
    2) Eidolon
    3) Black Box

    4) Felix Leiter
    5) Secret Service
    6) Solstice
    7) Moneypenny

    8) Hammerhead
    9) Kill Chain

Going out with a bang! Kill Chain is fa-bu-lous!

I was a bit underwhelmed with the first 2 stories in Dynamites run. I didn't feel that Ellis was a good fit.

However the more recent stories have been much better.

Solstice has been my favourite so far, with Hammerhead a close 2nd.

I will need to do this...as soon as I am done reading and in some cases re-reading) Fleming's books.

I guess the idea creatively with The Body is to show Bond's different injuries and how he got them, etc. and to tell each story Dynamite have a different team assigned to tell them across the issues? Sort of like little artistic vignettes making up a collective series?

That would actually make sense. Interesting Theory

I have a soft spot for VARGR. It's a good comic book. But Kill Chain rocks!

VARGR was Ellis' take on Risico. But, he got Bond all wrong. Well... at least the character wasn't anything like we've seen him before.

He took the fantasy and romanticism out of Bond. He made him hyper realistic, like Dalton on steroids, so he ended up with an narcissistic and violent D***head who was barely likeable.

On an intellectual Level i can appreciate the Experiment of it all, and I enjoyed both his stories on Release. But i will never enjoy that type of Bond over the Fantasy-idol version from Hammerhead and Solstice

Ouch! I have to disagree on Bond in VARGR. While I am a few issues behind you lot, I have liked all of what i have read from Dynamite (though Black Box was sometimes garish looking), in different ways. But my favourite illustrated Bond is still Serpent's Tooth.

No doubt, @MajorDSmythe! Serpent's Tooth is the god of all the Bond comics out there. Both story-wise and illustration-wise. Yes, I don't mind the damn dinosaurs! Haha! :))

I have to agree, it still ranks very high on my list. So does Permission to Die.
They just got the character so beautifully right in both those comics that i can overlook any other shortcomings.

Too damn right, @00Agent. Now, the third on my list is Hammerhead after those two.

Same here, Hammerhead and after that probably Solstice and Kill Chain.
