  • When you apologise. We've been over this. I'd rather talk about watches.
  • When is Beatles happening then? They're obviously much further along with that, as you say. I guess the only issue is that it's four movies, so presumably will take a while..? I would also say don't forget about Josh O'Connor, I think he's a dist…
  • Torgeirtrap wrote: » Funny you should mention the Nivada SuperAntarctic @mtm, as I had a look at it only last night! It's a not a cheap watch for sure, but I guess for what you get, the watch is reasonably priced. How is the build quality and your…

  • I don't think there's anything wrong with doubting Bond's capabilities or judgement; he's a character, not a flawless superhero. He's always got things wrong here and there, trusted the wrong person, got bonked on the head; in LTK he messes up a big…
  • The Smiths is fine if overpriced, I prefer my Nivada as it's a more original design and has more personality. A Smiths went up Everest but it didn't look like a Rolex. The Smiths is just made in China anyway, may as well get a Thorn or Baltany, b…
  • Yes, that's a nice one. I think they do it 34mm too, nice size. You're right about the graphics, they make all the difference for me. It's why I got a Nivada SuperAntarctic, I just thought the dial looked so great. (more than a Rolex homag…

  • Honestly, I lean towards origin. Or some version of origin; there is no 'bitten by a radioactive spider' established origin for Bond, so I think it's fine to get a new version in some way or form. It's a story, I'm happy to see the characters come t…
  • They must have seen her try to kill herself then? Were they just beaten to getting there by Bond?

  • I don't see any charisma at all. He's a blank. And as Peter said, not really an actor at all: he barely knows where to look. Like the bit where he finds the chips in his drawer after spending the night with Tracy- what's he thinking? I have no idea…
  • Yes I think as it was, even with Connery and Moore's star power, Bond was struggling and could have faded away with TMWTGG but Cubby wisely regrouped and relaunched it with Spy; a Lazenby DAF may well have seen O'Rahilly's prediction come true. D…

  • Presumably they're trying to grab Tracy and take her home as she's trying to kill herself, as on the beach the day before, but on both occasions Bond intervenes and lays them out, allowing her to get away. I guess that's what's happening?

  • A very nice new homage to the Tudor 7928 has just gone on sale, and as that watch is very similar indeed to the Rolex 5513, it kind of works as a tribute to 007's Live and Let Die watch! It comes in three variants and looks very nice to me. …
